Boot Rear Parcel Shelf Slider

Guys, can you tell me if the rear extendable parcel shelf is supposed to electronically slide up and down when you open or close the boot like on the A6? Or is it a manual thing?
Mine does not move.

Also, I have a rattle in the rear when going over harsh surfaces - any common areas to look for?

It's just a manual slide, not electric like the A6.
As for rattles, not sure, check in the spare wheel well for anything sliding around maybe?

It took me 3 months to sort the rattles. The roller creaks, the two side compartment covers in the boot rattle

Must go hunting for a rattle in mine that’s recently appeared.
I think it's emanating from the actual tailgate; as I have emptied the spare wheel area/tool kit and it's still around.

Fixed mine. It was the plastic screw that is used to pin down the spare wheel kit under the floor.
