Morning all, sorry more questions.

I'm going through the spec list of my new car and ive noticed:

Preparation for tracking system

I assume this is a location on the car with the cabling etc all prepared so a tracker can be installed? where is this located and what trackers fit? is it an Audi only tracker?

I appreciate this is a public forum so if somebody would like to PM this information it would be great.

Cheers.

I wouldn't bother or worry about it. Audi only have tracker preparation in 2 approved places for each model, so thieves know exactly where to look and they can be removed in minutes.

By the sounds of it you may have a tracker on there already, however activating the subscription would, IMO, be a waste of money. If you really want a tracker you'd be better off getting a decent one fitted independently and asking for it to be fitted in a non-standard place.

Yep as above. If you are doing it for your insurance company than any insurance approved tracker will do. Doesn't matter where it is fitted.
If you are doing it because you actually want your car back and want to minimise how far they get away then is recommend the Tracker trackers and in particular their cat 5 trscker which can detect if the car is hijacked or takenc in the middle of the night and immobilise the car remotely with police prrmission (which all cat 5 trackers do). What sets the Tracker one apart is that it also works with VHF so will still work if parked in a container or underground. None of the other trackers do this.
And get it fitted by an independent in an unusual or hard to reach place.
And if you want to go one step further, get them to install a dummy tracker in the usual place so if your car is stolen and they look in the usual place and fit this black box they will top out and think they are clean.

Thanks for the replies

I was more curious what the preparation was, im not sure i'd need a tracker either as we all know they are easily foiled. Id much rather spend on Blackjax or another form of immobilization i think.
