Hi all, just registered and tried searching but for some reason from my phone it doesn't seem to work?
I should be going to view a B8 RS4 Sunday.
Everything sounds positive, both the car and the seller. It is a private sale.
Is there any advice you can give to a potential new owner of V8 loveliness!

Theres quite few B8s up privately at the mo, the Daytona car is the winner for me

It is a Daytona one I will be looking at, I am not sure I want to put a link up. I may get competition for it!?
Am I being paranoid?

Are these cars selling quickly or at all?
I have read some comments about the same cars being for sale for a few months. At the end of the day it is a significant amount of money.
They seem to be holding their value very well.

They're spec sensitive.

Cars with full leather, pan roof, B&O, and sports pack, will generally sell better.

It has wing backs, pan roof, b&o, sport pack as the 'headline' spec. I will find out more once I get to see it.
After speaking to the owner I got a good feel for it, he sounds like he has looked after well in his ownership period. He is the second owner so I know it is not long!

It's a good spec and a MY14 example, but mileage is a little high for the asking price.

This car has been advertised for around 18 months, I spoke with them the other day and chap said they've sold it 3 times in that period. I changed my mind on it then as was advertised as one previous owner. I don't think they have sold it at all as mileage hasn't changed.

There are a couple advertised in early £30's now for similar miles without the pan roof.

I think you have the right car. That was my only thought about the mileage. It is on 29k, ideally I would have liked lower, but it is about average for nearly 3 years old. How much do you think is about the right price?

I did see that one you have linked to, for some reason I didn't fancy it, just a gut feel I guess.

I've been keeping an eye on the market for a couple of months now and it seems that the market for the B8 S4 and B8 RS4 is very slow at the moment.

some of the cars have been around for ages, and I suspect that the prices must be due for a bit of a crash at some point. Maybe the B9 RS4 will be the start of the adjustment to the prices? I'm looking at the moment and I'm sure the market is just waiting for me to purchase a car and then it will drop.. LOL...

The Daytona one at Oscar Goldman looks nice, shame the mileage is a little high (but not silly) and I think reasonably priced considering the spec and mileage.... might be worth a look if you are into grey ones and can get past the mileage? Appears to be in good condition, but they obviously know how to prep a car.

I wouldn't worry about posting for info and others 'snapping up' the car you are interested in, there are plenty out there, just take your time, bit like girls, the right one will turn up....

I feel the same as you regarding prices, I will guarantee a downwards adjustment, crash, straight after I have bought one!
I would prefer to buy the car from the private owner as you tend to get a better feel for how the car has been looked after. Just needs to have some warranty left, which is getting more difficult as most are approaching 3 years old.
I intend on keeping this car for a few years as it is something I want and can really appreciate.
My last 3 vehicles have either been tax efficient from a business point of view or have been a good value lease deal. Trouble is because I haven't felt the love after 2 years I am bored and looking for something else. I will purchase this outright and cherish it!

I'm not sure how much further you expect the price to crash? Normal expectations are c.50% of value every 3 years. B8's seem to be following that trend...If you take most well specced cars as having a ROTR price of C. 62-65k then the 3 year mark would see them c. 30-35k (mileage and condition dependent).

If you take the B7 as a marker too, you can see where the price of these cars is likely to be after a few more years too...yes, the B7 has a wider appeal due to model and fan base, but is an old car, the B8 should retain some value being the NA V8. Not sure it'll ever become an investment, though...

I am not sure I am expecting a crash as such, but it is just trying to balance getting the right car for me without paying over the odds. Much the same principle for any purchase really.
We all like to feel we have got a good deal.

The prices advertised seemed to be quite good (high) when you look at the online trade valuations from the likes of We Buy any Car for instance.

I think longer term you are right the B7 will always be more special and I certainly wouldn't be looking at a B8 as an investment. A car of this age and type first and foremost should be a decision from the heart.

Buy one now before they start getting into Barry-territory.
