New rotors after 14,000 km

Guys - looking for some opinions. Brought my 2014 RS4 in for service here in Sydney. It is still under warranty. Car runs perfectly though I noted some break squeaking which I pointed out to the service rep. I figured the from pads may need replacing (a bit early but still). The car has 14,000km on it.

Got a terse text message from the rep today saying the service is going fine. But, will need new pads and rotors in the front and that will be $4100 thanks - not covered by the warranty.

New rotors after 8,000 miles? Anyone ever heard of that? This car has never been tracked and I don't drive the car hard AT ALL. I am going to pursue this. Have never heard of a car needing rotors so soon and if it does then something is defective and this should be covered under warranty.

Any guidance appreciated.

tks JD

By rotors i assume your talking about the disks not the wheels

if its the disks this seems typical of Audi at the moment had my MOT last year and oh you need new pads and disks all round sir and the car had only don 20k but i did caliper the disks and new they were still 1mm wear left on the front and rears and allowable wear from new is 2mm so i explained they were taking the Michael and told them to clean the disks and put on new pads on
and i checked them again in November when i changed to my winter tyres and still 1mm left on the disks
i would go to a indi and get a second opinon

After 9000miles (14000km's) they should not need replacing.

I'm still on my original set from the factory and they have done 44k miles. They will need replacing with the next set of pads but they wont be fore another 10k -15k miles.

Worth noting they can go down to 32mm not the 32.4mm as stamped on the disc

Thanks guys. My plan is to wait for the pad indicator to light up, then get an Indy to install Akebono or Hawk pads and let them tell me about the state of the rotors (discs).

+1

I got 55k kms out of mine

my thoughts are that the stealer has adopted the logic of:

squeeking brakes = new pads
new pads = new rotors

I'd ask an indy to pull wheels off and use brake cleaner and refit. then see if squeak persists
