38k/2 Year service nearly due and have been quoted just over £1100 by by local stealer. By Christ these cars are expensive to run, £800 last year now this.

Anybody have any idea as to whether this is reasonable or am I being taken for a mug

The 40k one is expensive as it has the oil, inspection, all the 20k fluids and filters as well as the 40k ones.

My app says:

Air filters
Pollen filter
Front final drive oil
Stronic atf oil and filter
Rear final drive oil
Rear atf oil
Grease the sunroof.

Also as the brake fluid is 3 years and not mileage based this is often out of sync with oil and inspections and will need doing

I had the 38k service done 4/11/16, £1134.86 (plus lunch and an Audi Umbrella LOL), its not a cheap one but its half the price of the equivalent BMW service so not overly expensive for what its on and what you get.

What app are you using Dean?

M3 was twice the price and C63 was 1.5 times the cost and niether had 4WD, this is not expensive for these vehicles, you wait to you replace the discs and pads, even they can be found cheaper now though.

I went in with my eyes open after doing my homework, road tax has just gone up this year too to from £450 to £500, but hey ho, I love my car and will only change it for something similar.

My wife put it best when I signed the order and I noticed the road tac price, she said its hardly worth worrying about £450 a year when spending over £60k for a car that does on average 22-25 mpg, and she's an accountant!!!

find a recommended independent, it'll be cheaper and you'll be able to trust the work...not the apprentice let loose on your car.

Can someone please clarify what the service schedule is for these cars as I'm receiving conflicting info. My car is a Sep 14 car and has had the following services:

Sep 15 - oil
Oct 16 - inspection £200

Car now has 18500 miles MMI is now saying next oil service is in 8000 miles or 320 odd days and inspection in 600 days. I read somewhere that at 19000 miles it will need a major service which includes. Oil, diff and possibly gearbox but the sheet I got from the inspection in Oct says service as per MMI. Confused...

Cheers
Paul

Yes 20k is air filter, pollen filter and front final drive oil.

As you had oil in sep 15 i'm kinda guessing your car was a year old at that point which will also mean you need the brake fluid changing now.

These are 'additional work' items and sit outside of the oil and inspection cycle. Sometimes it falls nicely, sometimes it doesn't. Like mine was 23 months old when it turned 20k so the 2 year inspection and 20k additional items were done at the same time.
