Proud owner of my first RS4

Hi
I've just bought my first Audi, RS4 B8.5. What a car! Absolutely love it. The noise is is something else. I decided to go for a colour which was a bit different, Rivera Blue. The colour in the photos does not do it justice. It looks awesome in real life. It draws a lot of attention and I have loads of positive comments about it. I did consider the S4, but I'm glad I didn't. The RS4 had to go back to the dealer for the front dampers to be changed due to a knocking noise. They gave me S4, it's a good car, but the differeance between the two is huge.

Welcome, you're going to love it. The dampers are common, I had 1 replaced 4 weeks after it was delivered, it only had 1000 miles on the clock.
The colour is great, looks good with the black trim.

Nice mate! I was originally in the market for an S4 but kept seeing the RS' on visits to dealers, i took one for a spin and knew I'd never be happy with the S4 after that.

Nice car!
Having had a B8 S4 before the RS4 I'm not sure they are that different. RS4 has a way more charismatic engine but needs to be revved
Just had my from shocks done at 9000 miles. Dealer confirmed there was a TSB and updated stocks fitted

As a petrol head, the difference in the engine and the sound more than justifies the difference. The S4 just didn't sound right in Sports mode. Is some of the sound coming through a speaker (as BMW's)

Yes, there is augmented audio for the exhaust note which can be switched off by pulling fuse 5. Audi did away with this on late models though.

On the RS4 or S4 Geoff? Sure as I can be my S4 didn't (and the engine was just too quiet!)

It was S4/5, never on the RS models, it was on early V6 cars, not included on the facelift, Audi removed the feature, so cars pre 2012.
I had a 62 plate S5 up until last Saturday, only owned it 4 weeks, it was meant to be for winter use wile I refurbished the RS4 wheels, it did NOT have augmented audio for the exhaust.
