Little Features
Ok just a post to report some of the little features I've found over my first 6 months with the car, and to ask if anyone else has found some they’d care to share?
1) Main one for me is the climate control panel - when somebody changes the passenger side temperature, it knocked out the synchronisation. This REALLY bugged me, as it was such a faff having to delve into the menu and sub menus to re-sync. Fear not, I’ve found a shortcut! Press and hold the centre button on the driver side temperature dial and it will re-sync.
2) Press and hold the driver side auto button on the climate panel will re-set the temp to 22, which if you have it on max cooling or max heat, saves a few more button presses.
3) With the Power Tailgate feature, press and hold the unlock tailgate button on the key remote, this will then remotely open the tailgate until it stops or until you lift off the button.
4) High beam assistant can be switched of entirely by moving the headlight switch from Auto to On.

Re: Little Features
OMG no.1 will be so handy. That was on my annoyance list for sure.
Thank you
Thank you
Re: Little Features
Worth mentioning on 4 that it will impact your cornering and leaving home lights etc.

Re: Little Features
Ahh ok, didn't check the impacts of number 4. The HBA just didn't like the recent bad fog we had here, so switched it off for the journey.

Re: Little Features
There's an option in the MMI to default to either synchronise the two heater controls or not.
Re: Little Features
Yes but as soon as the passenger adjusts their side it unsyncs
Re: Little Features
Ah, I see. Thinking about it there's a certain logic, without a passenger the driver has control over both, but if you do have a passenger then at least they can get independent control without going into the MMI.
I must admit I always leave it unsynced as I've usually got company. The press and hold sounds handy though.

Isn't number 1 in the user manual? Pretty sure it is in my C7 manual.

Re: Little Features
You can also adjust the boot raise height with the button if you park in a reg tight spot, giving you a raise height of what ever you want form just open to fully raised.
AC sync is an old feature, used to be hold the Auto buttons on previous Audi's, been using this one for years.
Auto lights off will stop the coming home and welcome lights working.
Wing mirrors have a clean position, pull them the opposite way and there is a notch, they look odd but they drain and the backs are facing up for easier cleaning, the point of the notched setting is to help the drain when being flooded by water.
Mirror switch in left position (UK) when selecting reverse will dip the left mirror to the rear wheel to monitor the curb, if you have memory seats you can tweak the dipped position from the default to a custom location, again if you park in tight spot you can tweak for a hazard that you want to keep an eye on.
There are few other little items, I'll post a few more when I remember them.

Re: Little Features
The sync button also syncs the rears to the fronts so if you want the rear off and try to sync the front 2 zones by using the sync button the rears will come on too. Using the method above will just sync the front pair and leaves the rears in whatever temp / mode they were in before.Eddie555 wrote:Mike the c7 has a dedicated sync button on the panel. But passengers in the B8 are still in the same time zone, unlike the C7 hence you needing seperate controls
