Carl's B8 Daytona.. New HRE wheels

Post by C17LJR » Thu Dec 08, 2016 10:24 pm

Hey guys,

Had my B8 for just over a month now, this being my 2nd RS4, first was a B7 avant in Daytona Grey

Sold the B7 as I wasn't using the car through the week and the wife had just taken delivery of a touran after having our 4th child, had a couple TTs and a mk7 Golf R before deciding I needed another V8 in my life.

Always liked that B7 with the 'peelers', not a fan of the Golf though - a ladies car. Now where's the B8

so the new one, 2013 in Daytona again, can't see past this colour.. its on airlift suspension which won't be to everyone's taste, but I love it, I like to run my cars low but don't want to ruin the arches/underside of the car, also has 20" rotiform ind-t wheels, which Will be replaced soon.

It came with the supersport seats, so the first mod was to fit replacement wingbacks I'd bought in anticipation of getting the car, these will be coming out again early next year when I revisit my trimmer and the newly trimmed interior goes in

Thanks Sam, loved the peelers myself. Pics above. See you've jumped from the B7 to B8 too, how'd you find the move?

Looks nice, Daytona is such a great colour
and although not a fan of low low cars and aftermarket wheels I quite like the top and bottom pic
think the wheels suit it nicely.

Think most of us on here have made the move from the B7 to the B8.
Hard choice, decision to make but once done you realise how good these B8s are.

Took me awhile to get used to the different settings and how I could change the car to my different driving styles but
once you get used to it it makes the car so much useable than the B7 IMO.

More comfortable on motorway journeys and not so harsh for my 2 boys in the back and then just a nudge back
with the gearstick and the cars in dynamic ready for quick getaways.

Bigger boot and more legroom so far me and my family its the best there is.

How have you found the change?

Thanks Peter, wheels aren't really my thing but you're right, they do suit the car though

I've a couple sets of OEM wheels that I'm going to fit after the new year

I've had a 20vt TT, v6 TT and the 2.0t R in between the B7 and the B8 so can't really compare them like for like... the b8 engine and drivetrain is fantastic though, would be good if both were manual or auto to see how different they are

I had the full miltek on the B7, so must admit that sounded better, nothing that can't be fixed (and I'm trying to) on the B8

Thank you, air has got a bad rep, but when it's all fitted properly, it's a great management system and struts I'd happily go up against any car on coilovers

I drive all my car hard and this is no different
