Hi guys.
Anyone "serviced" theres cleaning it up and inspecting it.
Or put new OEM internals if available.
I can find "upgraded" versions that allow better psi etc but I'm not interested in getting tuning down as of yet.
Reason I'm asking as a friend of mine who sadly nows lives in Australia worked at audi and he watsapp me and said make sure the HPFP is in good condition as I trashes the intact cam if its not smooth as that's what pumps the piston.
I don't fancy that so what are your thoughts.
Mine is rs4 avant 2012. 37k on clock.
Oh and hi. This is like my 2nd post.

Audi HPFP (high pressure fuel pump)
Re: Audi HPFP (high pressure fuel pump)
When I say open it up and service it I mean cleaning the little piston and putting a new bit of oil in there. Videos that I have seen with this done you can see so much crap inside and as you know this becomes abrasive and makes the piston stick in the tube thus putting pressure on the cam. Which in turn wear a groove in the cam which in turn again is not what you want.
The spring and piston actually move easy enough to press with your hands when off the motor.
As the side your Servicing is fully open able With a 18mm deep socket I can't see any reason why not to do it.

You can see on the above link what I mean.
Where he puts the oil market it really does make Sense to clean this.
Thoughts?
