problems with android phone audi mmi high

Evening all
Been lurking here for many years but never posted before. Recently changed my b7 avant for a b8 and so far really enjoying it! One issue I am having is with my Samsung S7. My car has the MMi high with 3g etc. The phone is paired correctly and works perfectly in the car, however when I leave the car and it is therefore disconnected from the car, the phone often is not on the network. So it wont text or make or receive calls unless I re start the phone. More annoyingly it seems to be intermittent! Anyone come across this? Thanks.

Hey, weird one. It sounds like it is staying in remote sim mode for some reason. I found life so much easier just buying a cheap 3g sim to stick in the dash. I have the same mmi and phone if you want me to do any tests or whatever.

I have the same phone but use a £5pm data sim from gif gaff and have no issues whatsoever.
