Just thinking aloud; would it be an option to return the car to the dealer (so finance agreement has ceased, and they own the car), and then buy it off them as a new transaction at a prearranged price?

Or I guess you could find another RS4 altogether at a dealer and finance that via third party PCP. Would probably cost less in depreciation than a new SQ5.

Just trying to think of ways to stay in a '4!

Certainly an option, and one I chatted through with my dealer. Sadly he said he'd get frowned upon badly if he flipped my car through the system and sold it back to me without making any profit. The point of PCP is that I have equity (currently about £4K) to put into another car so they make more money. To be honest I see where he/they are coming from.

Depreciation/RV on the SQ5 is a strange one. It does all it's depreciation in the first year (down from list to £31k GFV) then it loses £2k in year two (£29k GFV) then in year three loses £1k to a GVF after 36mths of £28k. With discounts and my equity I'd be in essence financing £18-19k over three years.

With the new Q5 around the corner I'm very surprised by those numbers.

The SQ5 is by no means a done deal, but it's an option I didn't think existed.

SQ5 is no slouch and it was never found wanting. I look back on mine with a lot of fondness.

Personally, I think the B8 interior is showing its age (have had 5 in various guises).

That's the thing that I'm wary about the most. Even though it has quilted leather, the dash is the same as my B8 which I've had for two years so the new car feeling is likely to wear off very quickly. The lack of mod cons such as Carplay and a USB port is also off putting. Had a look at the Macan GTS today but the rake of the back hatch makes the boot useless versus the Q5. I'd say it's more of a Q3 competitor than a Q5 competitor.

Agree regarding the boot on the GTS but, as an overall package it works for us, ours arrives in December.
The interior is in a different league to Audi.

GTS is also on 12-18 month lead time. I'm slightly biased, but it's miles away from the Q5 as a package.

Newcastle. I ordered it last November and was told I'd get it around August/September. I was later told I wouldn't get it until next year so a got the M3, a week or so later I was told October :bash: I'll proabaly sell it as I really like the M3 and will loose a packet.

Timings are all over the place on the GTS, the wait now is under 6 months.

Alpine do a replacement stereo / nav unit for the A4/ A5 / Q5 platform. It retains all the normal in built features like the oil level check / warnings etc, used the steering remote, has a touchscreen, Alpine Tuneit app for apple or android, lots of other features, blah blah blah. Doesn't look like it has carplay though but it has a USB port and is iphone/ ipod ready.

Looks interesting but unfortunately: "The X701D-A4R is not compatible with vehicles with Audi MMI navigation or navigation plus system" which I think rules out the RS4.
