Hello! Newbie here with one issue (question)

Post by neo61uk » Fri Jun 03, 2016 7:16 am

Hello to everyone

I'm a new user of Rs4 B8 Phantom Black
Long time BMW driver. Just traded in my nearly brand new F31 330d for a 2013 Rs4.
Time has come to change the diesel back to petrol again. As I need an estate every day there could be only one choice! :)

Loving the car, the sound, quality inside and the look of it

It works great and I don't even miss my 650Nm of torque.

Anyway I have one little issue and would like to ask fellow members if any of you experienced similar?

When I come to a T junction and stop. Turn my wheels lfet or right and accelerate a bit quicker, I can hear a high pitch noise coming from outside. I can reproduce it every time when on a carpark going round. If I'm driving with just a little throttle it's quiet. Its there either way I turn. Last for about 2 seconds. At first I thought its the tires squeak. Sound very similar to winter tires squeak on a slippy carpark.
But now my mate tried to listen outside and he said its front at the start but than he was sure it's on the rear. So we assume it's somewhere between or the sound is spreading.
Sounds like something is falling into high pitch vibration for a second or two. The harder the acceleration the longer it last for. Max 3 sec.

Really sorry for a long thread. I hope someone heard it before and can help me out on this.

Best Regards
Martin

Got it from TH Boler garage.
Why?

Car overall condition is mint.
One owner from new.

Just to add. There is no noise with straight wheels whatsoever.

Oes was the last part of reg plate

It used to drop into 1st with a jolt
It used to use 1 litre of oil every 300 miles
It made the noise
It had buckled wheels - which I got fixed
The brakes were fooked
It used to slip in gears occasionally

All of the above - it was constantly in the garage I had practically every loan car they had

Got 22k off an rs6 so changed, traded my car with a 4 k loss to me, they said they were going to retail it - I was a bit shocked and said why can you fix it now but you can't fix it when I had it? Cnuts!

Hope you get it sorted though have you got Audi warranty??

Omg

What an experience

Well I don't have an Audi warranty but reading your post I don't think it may be worth much to have... Lol

I did receive aftermarket warranty for 2 years and £5k single claim limit.
Hope I will never use it.

Car had few bits done under warranty before I bought it but I didn't have time to check what it was yet.

Apart from noise all is good.

I was hoping someone else had it fixed and know what it is.
Thinking about it more now, it sounds like loose exhaust vibration or something similar.

When car is moving I can turn sharp and nothing happens.
Only when driving off from standstill, what leads me to sudden vibration noise.

Thank you for your help
I hope my experience will be a bit better

Loving the car and can't wait to sit in it and start it up every day lol
