Has anybody gone down the road of swapping out the stock air filters for aftermarket ones? If so what was the verdict - any noticeable improvements / down sides in any department?
Having had K&N panel filters on previous cars and finding them to bring a small but noticeable improvement in the way the engine seems to run, I am considering swapping out the stock air filters on the RS4 for K&N filters. However, before I spend the money I would be interested to know if anybody had experience of making this 'mod' on these cars?

I would also be interested to hear if it makes any difference to the sound of the exhaust.

Re: Aftermarket Panel Air Filters
They are approx £50 each from K&N - one type for the left airbox and another for the right.

+1
No complaints. But I stuck it in when I got the cap fitted also, so it could be utter crap, I'd not know
It's all torque talk.
