Try Audi Five Oaks near Horsham, they've always serviced mine and let me supply the oil. Crawley Audi will do the same and I've found to be the cheapest in the Surrey/Sussex borders.

Sounds like Guildford Audi havn't got a scooby doo about what needs doing.

it seems really strange that they require to service a sun roof wtf and they charge you handsomely for it too

They do all use the same software for quotes - completely agree. But it's down to the individual dealer to discount depending on many factors.
As for "service" of the sunroof - there's been a few cars who's had issues (sticking etc) I seem to recall. If a dealer tried to do that not under warranty I'd tell them to take a running jump!

I got quoted about £450 by Harrogate Audi for oil change but £675 with inspection and filters a couple of weeks ago! I was gobsmacked and told them I knew others with RS4's who'd paid circa £300 for oil and inspection. Spoke to service manager who agreed to do oil change, service, inspection, filters, important front final drive diff oil change and also agreed to fit my 4 x new PSS's for total of £530 all in in the end. Seemed a little fairer but still expensive.

Was the £450 with them supplying the oil? It's disgraceful the markup they make on oil tbh but... that's business I guess.

Not more than £200. You're being fleeced at more than £250.

Ask this question, why go to a dealer? Find a good local audi/performance car specialist, if I was buying second hand, I'd see specialist service as far better than dealer where the apprentice does the service.

I was £170+/- a few quid for my first service at star performance in Dysart. Great guys, and regularly win awards for their garage, the guy drives an rs too...

Yes - this was them providing oil. Told em i was being fleeced and said could I by 10ltr of whatever they choose for less than £100 myself. Got them down in the end and they did front diff oil and four tyres fitted for a fair bit less than what the originally quoted me.

Only reason I/we go to main dealer for servicing is to maintain dealer service history for resale purpose. I get brakes and other stuff done elsewhere though.

Independent yes, no way a dealer will be in that price area though.

So why do so many go to dealers? Dealer service is worse than proper independent to me...
