Yes, that's kind of what made me wobble on the '5.

Not bought anything yet, been sitting on the fence so long that its starting to hurt

ARSEY4 wrote:Having just gone from a 2011 RS5 to a 2015 RS4 I would say the 4 is a far better drive. The 5 by comparison under steered hideously and felt like a big heavy car. Now that could be down to my old 5 being a 2011 pre face lift but I am not aware of any major changes to the set up that could explain such a big difference. Tyres may have had an impact as the 5 was on Bridgestones and the the 4 on Pirellis but again I doubt it. The only other difference was I that I made sure my 4 didnt have DRC and dynamic steering as that to me ruined the 5.

Thanks that's great feedback as well. I know there was a steering TSB that dealers carried out when cars were in for servicing and some RS5 owners hated it, claiming that it ruined the feeling?

Something tells me you have found a car???
Been to view a few but non have made the grade yet - I'm almost certain the next one will now be a B8. Just haven't made the mind up fully on an RS4 or an RS5 facelift.
Sam, if you do go down the B8 RS4 route, what are your requirements?

How long have you got?

Realistically I will not find a car with my ideal specification, so will have to retrofit a number of items over time. A car with less 'would likes' would need to be cheap though, as the spec will be fairly basic and cost me shed loads of ££££'s to improve upon.

Must have's:
  • Car - Sub 20k miles ideally, full Audi history, well loved.
Colour - Sepang Blue, Nardo Grey, Suzuka Grey, Ibis White and will consider other muted Exclusive colours.
Interior - Full black leather, black headlining, again Exclusive colours considered but probably nothing I'll like, Carbon or Piano Black inlays.
Seats - I want buckets but will probably have to retrofit, so ideally the standard seats should be full memory and heated.
Options - DRC suspension (doesn't have to be full Sports Package), 3G MMI+ with 7" screen, B&O Sound system, DAB radio, Panoramic Sunroof, Advance Parking
Would like's/Retrofit list:
  • Extended Audi Warranty
    20" wheels
    Ceramic Brakes
    Bucket Seats
    Power Tailgate
    No privacy glass
    Mobile Telephone Prep High
    Advanced Key
    Side Assist
    Adaptive Cruise
    Hill Hold Assist
    Homelink
    Carbon design engine cover

That's interesting. I've had my RS4 since November which is quite long for me. It's my first RS and I'm just kicking myself for having loads of S cars and not going full fat before! I'm getting twitchy as I think I may have to scratch some more itches and move on from the RS4. My car matches most of the must haves:

Must have's:
  • 13700 miles, 2nd owner, purchased from a main dealer, serviced at 11k, well loved
    Colour - Sepang Blue
Interior - Full black leather, black headlining, Carbon inlays.
Seats - Not buckets, full memory and heated.
Options - Sports Pack - no knocking, 3G MMI+ with 7" screen, B&O Sound system, DAB radio, Panoramic Sunroof, Advance Parking
Would like's/Retrofit list:
  • Extended Audi Warranty - nope
    20" wheels - v spokes
    Ceramic Brakes - nope
    Bucket Seats - nope
    Power Tailgate - yes
    No privacy glass - whoops
Mobile Telephone Prep High - think (?) this is standard (mobile connects via bt).
    Advanced Key - nope
    Side Assist - nope
    Adaptive Cruise - yes
    Hill Hold Assist - no
    Homelink - no
Carbon design engine cover - no
Happy to have a chat if you get firm plans to change and the above if of interest. Then we could maybe meet up, chat about figures etc. No firm plans on my side; just maybe (maybe not) a potential option for you.

Sorry to resurrect and old thread.

I'm looking for the part number of the H&R 10mm spacers and bolts. I checked on revolution247 and they dont seem to be doing H&R anymore

Forum member Virdee can sort them out for you.

I might move down from 10mm spacers to 8's, due to the odd tiny chip appearing on the doors.

Thanks Sam.

You think the chip is caused from the tyres throwing stones onto the door? Is it happening both sides?

Yep, the RS suffers horrifically with stone chips as it is when you fit decent rubber. The undersides of the sills and front lower sections of the doors below the swage line take a pounding.

Fit spacers and you make it worse, the underside of the door handles start to get it!

I took mine off all round as it was not worth the damage.

Do you think smaller spacers like 8mm as Sam suggested make any difference?

Bollocks, you must need your eyes tested.

Every RS4 you see parked up has marked laquer in those areas, maybe not through the colour coat to metal or primer but still chipped.
