Low battery light coming on

Last couple of days in the morning the low battery light comes on. I use most days a few stop starts due the day. I do schools runs and work so do about 15 miles a day so must be charging battery. It do not come on again dueing the day. only When been left all night. Do you think battery going
Or do I need to go on long run. So if battery which size do I need? Any idea's

The battery light is usually a fault within the charging circuit of the car not the actual battery.

i'd say from the sounds of it the Alternator is on the way out, Have you checked charging voltage with a voltmeter? should be around 14.4v for a healthy alternator.

Unless you mean it actually states "low battery" then in which case i'd just be replacing the battery, if its the red battery symbol on the dashboard near the engine light/oil pressure light.
Then its as above something wrong with the charging circuit.

It's the yellow symbol coming up
And it disappears after. I go about 1 mile to the school stop for half hour get back in car all ok nothing comes up

If you have a tracker, that might be faulty and draining the battery.

Charging over 14.4v and about just over 12 without engine runing have no tracker I guess it need good run thursday taking daughter to hospital round trip of about 65 miles and see what happens Friday morning
