Hi all,

Really enjoying the car, had a weird one today with the sunroof opening on its own, has anyone else ever had that?

Were you driving the car at the time or did you have the keys in your pocket? Did the Windows drop too? If you hold the unlock button, this can open windows/sunroof.

Just as an update this turned out to be the aftermarket alarm, the proximity box was mounted next to the sunroof module. Tbh I didn't want to be the man in the middle between audi and the alarm company so had the alarm removed and all is well now!

Ok so pan roof started opening all on its own, anyone else had this. Interesting u can reset it by pulling tilt button down for 10 seconds until all movement has stopped (and was for 5 secs) - I assume it is a switch issue? Anyone had similar, had to pull fuse as sunroof live with car locked

Odd how you had the alarm removed and then 2 years later the issue returns? Could be the switch I guess, have you taken apart the roof unit to inspect for any wiring damage?

I haven't had it apart - googling it it appears to be a common issue - switch problem - yes very weird it has suddenly appeared with no tweaks to the car

So checked switch and all looks fine, booked into Audi for Wednesday so will let you know the result. Fuse pulled for now in case it opens on its own when parked!

Update: diagnosed as faulty switch and replaced under warranty. Apparently fault can happen due to switch or motor. Interestingly switch was on back order.

I had that system on a golf years ago, and must've pressed the button in my pocket at home, and it had lashed it down all night
Came out to the interior of my car looking like a half filled paddling pool :(

There is a reset where you pull the tilt switch and hold it until it completes its cycle and then hold it for another 5 secs - useful if it ever just won’t work. My dad left the roof down on his Merc SL - it was a swimming pool!
