S-Tronic (Gearbox) Maitenance schedule?

What sort of mileage are you guys doing before carying this fluid and filter change?

Should it be done every 20,000 miles?

Just had mine done, gearbox and front diff is 20k and rear diff is 40k.

I had a 2nd service (major) at 19.7k, had the gearbox and front diff done at the same time and along with replacing the worn Pirelli's for Michelin's it eliminated the front diff scrub I was getting.

Thanks Geoff, just to confuse things further.

I've found this attached file, which is alleged to have come from an internal audi system.

It shows for a 2010 RS5, so maybe different to that of the RS4:

Brake Fluid - Every 3/5/7 years
S-Tronic Fluid - Replace at 40k miles
Air Filter - Replace every 20k miles
Pollen Filter - Replace every 2 years or 20k miles
Spark Plugs - Replace every 6 years or 60k miles
Gearbox Oil in Front Final Drive - Replace every 20k miles
Rear Final Drive ATF Oil change - Every 40k miles
Rear Final Drive Oil change - Every 40k miles

Hi there

I know this post is few months old.
However Gearbox Oil schedule is a mystery to me in every car I owned.
So I thought I will add some more confusion.

I have bought my car second hand.
One owner from new.
67k miles on a clock.
Service done in Stratford Audi at 18/35/57k miles.

Rang the dealer today and asked for Gearbox oil change at any stage.
Never been done!
Asked about the warranty issue in case it will fail.
No problem.
WTF?

Just had a look at my service book page 11

It list the RS4 at the top for gear oil for Sport Differential
Change oil Atf 38k miles
Change gear oil 38k miles

Going down same page

S TRONIC gearbox oil and filter change
No RS4 listed!
There are all the others
Rs3
Rs5
R8

But no RS4?

How come our s tronic is different to rs5? Or rs3?

Could someone look into their Service Schedule books page 11
And see if rs4 is listed under s tronic oil section?

Did you acctually asked for it or they called you to do it?

I am trying to understand how audi service works now?
How come previous owner never done it? If its a required service?
So confusing...

All that you mentioned was done - sorry invoice at work but I seem to remember 3 things

Cost about £450

They warned me earlier in the year when oil service done but as I do few miles in this car at the minute I said it could wait.

Said it was 38k miles and then computer came up and warned me 500 before.

I'm the first owner or are you referring to your own situation.

To be honest I didn't find bmws servicing schedule any clearer!!

I managed to speak to audi and they printed out a list of things that should be done at 38k.

Funnily enough it's completely different to the service schedule that comes with my car? How come? God knows...

Replace gearbox oil in front final drive - every 20k - £157.05
Replace rear final drive ATF oil - every 40k - £94.96
Replace rear final drive oil - every 40k - £45
Replace S Tronic oil and filter - replace At 38k - £262.86

Anyone understand those positions? What the means? What is final drive and why there is rear final drive oil and ATF oil?

Each position says replace EVERY
But s tronic is replace AT 38k

Looks like they advising me to change s tronic only once AT 38k
But all the other things every 20k and 40k.

535dboy could you have a look at your invoice and let me know which positions were done on yours?
