New Tyres, Front Brakes, Jack Barclays and Audi Service Plan

Post by boff » Sat Jan 09, 2016 1:42 pm

The RS4 has been in at 12000 miles this morning.

The car has moved from Pirelli to Pilot Sports - Massive improvement, massive massive. (And it was already great!)
Front Pads were done in - so they got done too.

I love the Audi Service plan because it has been in twice in 9 months (First Oil, now these) I have spent £122 per month so that's circa £1300 spent to date. It has saved me in the region of £700!! and I have had zero hassles along the way.

The bill this morning would have been £1800 and I've just walked in, worked on my laptop, and walked back out without using a bank card - I do like that.

Then Big massive respect to Jack Barclays, really really good treatment - this morning I got the tour, bloody amazing garage. Keep this level of care up JB and I will be a customer for life.

I continue to just love this car, nothing has gone wrong in 12000 miles, the experience of ownership has been painless, and it drives like nothing else I have driven. Whilst I have the RS6 on order I genuinely do not see the RS4 as an inferior motor, I actually put it pegged at the exact same level. It is just bloody awesome.... you see the RS6 has a different drama code, the RS6 only goes to 6500 rpm, and the gearbox does not compare to the RS4.

new pads after 12000 miles ? is that usual wear, as i'm on the originals and am just coming up to 20K! Changed to Pilot Sports too a few weeks back and the handling is better, although it was good anyhow. Maybe the ride is a little harder as a result, but not hugely so. Cost wise its the first big money spend (although its had the first service and I cant recall that cost) so maybe the service plan is something I should have gone for!

Audi Certainly were not surprised, they did ask if I enjoyed the Sport Driving function. To which I simply responded. Yes.

It seems the Audi Service plan works for me, is all I can say.

Looking at those figures it's no wonder my local dealer didn't really want to sell me the service plan.

So Boff the plan includes tyres aswell?

A further update will follow, but she's on order, I'll have to keep it out of my mind for a bit
