Thinking of getting one but.....

I'm thinking of getting into a B8 RS4 in the next few months. It will be from the cheaper end of the market as I will only have in the region of £35k to spend.
Any advice re essentials regarding spec gratefully received. I've read about people wanting the sports exhaust so what's the difference between that and the standard one.
There also seems to be discussion regarding dynamic steering or just plain old steering so any comments on that would be good
Any info as to what comes as standard on 2012/13 models would be most helpful.
Lastly and perhaps this should have come first but I have a stage 1 C5 RS6 which I intend to keep. Is the B8 going to feel slow in comparison? I don't want to get one then wish I'd got a C6
Thanks

This looks to be the kind of thing and reasonably priced
Ceramic brakes as well ! But no sports exhaust.

That's got sports exhaust, unless the tips are very dirty in the photo.

What's the car's history? That looks suspiciously like an ex AUK car.

So does the sports exhaust have black tips and the standard one silver?

What makes it look like an AUK car? Does that mean it's been a press car and therefore thrashed ?

Very early car, buckets, ceramics and sports pack. Smacks of AUK. Ad doesn't state previous owners, on eBay at least. Yes if ex AUK I'd avoid it, not so many owners but many many drivers.

If it was an ex Audi UK car (but at the moment there is nothing to confirm it is) used by the Press Office, then I agree, I'd avoid it, but the majority of used cars on any Audi dealership forecourt are from Audi UK. As most Fords registered EO or EN, or most Vauxhalls registered beginning with a K etc etc .. all registered by the manufacturer before ending up at dealerships.
I've looked at a lot of Audi UK cars over the years and the majority are good stock, well equipped and a good saving on the new price. Where's the suggestion that they have had many, many drivers come from?
As with any used car, check it out or have it checked out thoroughly and any signs of neglect or misuse will be quickly apparant.
As a side, I don't think silver suits the RS4 at all, and silver rotors...no. Need to contrast. In my opinion anyway.

As generally AUK cars are demo/fleet/experience. Agreed take it as you see it, but personally I'd not want to chance one.

Thanks for all those replies. I have emailed the dealer with a few questions and will see what they say.
Anyone who has driven both care to comment regarding how the performance will be in comparison to a C5 RS6?
Also what's standard fare equipment wise and what's nice to have?

Can't comment on the comparison, but check the DRC on a used RS4. Many have a tendency to knock /clunk over minor road imperfections such as slightly low manhole covers; predominantly from the front offside at low speeds. Plenty on here about it...
As to goodies...with a used car, I'd go for as higher spec as possible, as long as it ticks the right main boxes; ie colour, wheels, exhaust, seats etc etc. The initial owner / dealership has taken the hit / absorbed the OTR price, and the used price doesn't generally reflect the true cost of options. Many you may never use, but I personally think that the higher spec will help to sell the car when the time comes.
Plenty of info on here as to people's preferred equipment, but it's what you personally want at the end of the day.

I've heard some horror stories about the dealer advertising that car
If it's cheap through them, then I'd suggest it's probably cheap for a reason

Salesman called me re this. Three previous owners last one since mid 2013 who traded it in. He couldn't say how long AUK had it for.
Not a sports exhaust by all accounts.

Any chance of a pm to expand on this comment a quick check on the internet came up with a 4.9 out of 10 from 21 reviewers?

Ditto. Anybody who frequents Pissed-on-heads will know them well.

Here's one story about a 911, and there's another about a white R8 which was removed due to a legal battle...

Re this RS4, there's one way to know if it's an ex Audi UK car. If the reg number starts with OY/OV/OE or another O* prefix, it'll pretty much definitely be ex-Audi.
