MB Design KV1 5 spoke Deep Concave Wheels

Post by BMW2RS4 » Tue Sep 01, 2015 8:11 pm

Hi All,

Just wanted to share some images of the MB Design KV1 alloy wheel on the RS4.

These are 20 x 10.5 ET33 (but with 3mm spacer all round making ET30). Very deep concave design (deeper than Vossen CV1s); approx. 7mm clearance on non-ceramic BBK.

Excellent quality (TUV approved) & pretty light for a 20"; much lighter than the Vossen CV1s. Very aggressive design; fitted 275/30R20 Pirelli PZero. No rubbing whatsoever.

This size is intended specifically for the A5/S5. Usually RS4s are fitted with 20 x 9 ET20 (Concave) in front and 20 x 9 ET21 (Deep Concave) in rear but IMO the 10.5" width fit fine & look better. If you're looking for a 5 spoke design, these are worth a look.

Nice, but it's still very much Vossen's for the win...

Looks nice but I prefer when you had the Vossens.

These are only available from Continental Europe so really depends on Euro exchange rate.

At the moment, approx. £1450 buys all four (in standard colours; silver, matte grey, matte black etc) including delivery direct from MB Design in Germany. Tyreleader currently list them at £1326 with free delivery but they only seem to source certain colours.

Good info! Someone that actually tells you how much wheels cost. Also, prefer the Vossens.

Have to agree; for some reason UK wheel suppliers seem reticent to publish their prices. The dreaded "call for price" seems the accepted practice.

On the other hand, USA based suppliers are pretty good at publishing their prices; if only ours were as cheap as theirs!!

Jury's still out on my preferred wheel. Black wheels are notoriously difficult to do justice in a photograph (particularly with my limited photographic skills!) but these do look good in the flesh and compliment the Audi really well.

The window is too big on the 5 spoke wheels for a car with heavy lines. Narrow 5 spoke wheels are better suited to sports cars and coupes. IMO.

Fair point but it depends what you call narrow; these are 75mm thick reducing to 65mm at the outer edge which is pretty chunky. I understand what you are saying and it would deter me but, IMO, that is not an issue with this particular design. If anything, it is the aggression of the spokes when viewing from oblique angles that might put some off.

See, the last photo where the wheels are pert to the camera offend me the most. Wheels are subjective and I hear you about photos versus 'real life'. Black C6 wheels look great on my avus car but it photographs <beep>.

Yeah, I see what you mean and agree that it isn't the best representation; they definitely have more depth than comes across in that photo.

Not too much forum love for the KV1s but I love them & that's the main thing :D. Consequently, I don't think that I'll be returning the Vossens to the RS4 in the long term future. Therefore, I'll let them go if anyone wants them but happy to keep them if they don't. I'll put an ad up in the classified section in due course but brief details are as follows:

Bought new Feb 2015; mounted 10.04.15 & removed 22.08.15 (covered approx. 2600 miles); very good condition. 20"x10.5" ET30; needed 3mm spacers at front to clear RS4 B8 BBK (non-ceramic); these are not included in sale. Centre bore 66.5mm. RRP was £2,200 (+ £200 to refinish with matte black centre & gloss black lip). These are no longer available to buy new.

See images at post below:

viewtopic.php?f=61&t=114936

Asking £1200; no offers please.
Note: WHEELS ONLY

Would prefer collection; I'm based in Wigan.

Cheers

David

I liked the KV1's.

Tbh, not many people on the forum liked my Rotiforms but I love them and so does everyone who sees them

I've seen this car a few times lately driving through Leigh. Its the only other B8 RS4 I've seen in that area. Car looks cool.
