+1. Why put a pretty awful deal on a forum where people discuss finance openly and will know it's awful. Sponsor or not, an error of judgement.

I was surprised by how low that was, so I'm even more surprised to hear that it's a bum deal. So how much would you expect to pay a month? PM me if you prefer.

LOL yes I guess that's true. They don't mention the deposit on the offer above so maybe it's still a good deal?

This, 100%.

It always amazes me how people discuss the £cpm as a benchmark to how good a deal is. In the grand scheme of things it's irrelevant. The £cpm is just the result of the APR, deposit, discount and GFV equation.

It's those variables which make the car good value for money or not.

For example, add the £5k of extra discount you can get, and that monthly drops to c£475pcm (on a 3yr). But add in £6k of options and it goes up to c£750pcm.

Throw in an increased APR to 7.9% and it goes up another £75pcm.

Increase your deposit by £4k and the £pcm goes down by c£100pcm

Take it over 2yrs and the GFV goes up, but that drops the amount of interest you pay, so the PCM only goes up a smaller amount.

Headline deals like this are a starting point, but It's about finding the right balance for you on your specced car that counts.

:)

The deposit is over £13k and the residual is nearly £28k. Do people really buy on the monthly commitment without understanding the overall deal?

Sadly, there's a significant proportion of people who do, which is why these 'headline' adverts exist. I spoke to somebody recently who was paying 14% APR on 6mth old used RS4! I asked him how he could do it, and he said "but it's only £900 a month over 3yrs", We then discussed how my higher specced new car was significantly cheaper per month over 2yrs and I put in £6k less deposit. He was gobsmacked! I know it's the news used debate, but it highlights the headline monthly £cpm is pretty much irrelevant.

Personally I think adverts like this should be banned and dealers should be obliged to explain how finance on new and used actually works, but that'll never happen because they'll sell less cars. :(

but isn't this the purchaser fault for being to lazy/uninformed to check if it a good deal or not, this just seems to me a way for people who would not normally be looking to buy a premium brand to have one then walk away when they relise they cant afford it anymore and leave others to clear the mess up

The RS4 B8 forum is slowing down now due to the car not being the new kid on the block. Adverts like this spoil it in my opinion. A forum is to discuss a mutual interest not try and flog stuff....sponsors should understand that. Audi don't have the best reputation pre or post sales and this typifies it.

I slated Reading Audi on Google a while back and also sent them the same by email....no response. I then get a call asking if my Wife wants to upgrade her S3 we bought from them....a joke in customer service and knowing how to understand your customers.

The likes of Porsche and LandRover have got it right. They respect there customers.

+100 Had both at one point in life, Porsche was a proper experience (apart from Porsche Guildford who are the biggest bunch of idiots I've ever met).

But Porsche Reading was a properly great motoring experience, and on the whole I hear the entire group is the same (apart from Guildford IMHO) and then Land Rover, I had the faultiest Range Rover Sport on the planet, still the way in which it was handled actually leaves me with fond memories and I will have another car from them.

even saying that - I rang Ford yesterday for an update on when you can order a Focus RS, and that was a great experience too - much better than many of the Audi calls I've made.

In Audi Sales Land I rate Epsom Audi, and where I've got mine from Audi City - which is a strange one as I bought my B5 from Audi Leeds (as kmpowell would say, part of the Shytner Group) and the car and the experience was shocking, I swore I'd not spend another penny with Sytner, until I realised the order form I'd just signed was indeed Sytner (Audi City) - At the moment they are doing a great job, decent updates, working hard to get us in the car - they are doing real well right now......

If the RS4 wasn't such a decent fit for us, I'd not have come back, so come on Audi! Here's your chance!!!
