Does look close to the edge but still on the flat surface of tyre so cant see any reason why it cant be repaired

Suspect you can't repair because of location. Too near outer edge.

That looks familiar

Apparently, this was repairable but because it had been driven on while flat (it was on an RS3 so no TPMS) the side wall was knackered so a replacement was needed.

Hopefully yours should be fine :beerchug:

Problem is, Audi say they won't do it and I thought I trusted their opinion!

One of my staff other half owns a tyre garage and he said he would!!

Third option - repair it AND buy a new tyre, wrap up the repaired one in cling film and throw it in the garage as a back up

I saw that which implies ok

Part of me thinks if it was on a low performance car then yes no issues, on this tbat gets used hard I am just more wary

For some balance I had a tyre repaired on my C6. In France. On a Friday afternoon. Fully approved Michelin repair. I was also wary but the guys at the garage said just drive it as you would have done anyway. It was just dandy.

I had similar punctures repaired on my old subaru. A trip to Scottish highlands and a few track days with no problems
