Which port?

Post by LeapingDeere » Tue Mar 03, 2015 4:35 pm

I've been informed by my Dealer that my car has arrived into the UK port. Does anyone know which port it is?

Southampton? Grimsby?

Ive been able to keep my excitements levels very low for these past months but upon hearing that Im starting to fail!!!

I hope it's not Grimsby. The staff shortages up there are causing all sorts of issues with vehicle distribution...
It's all torque talk.

As far as I know all VAG cars come into either Sheerness, Grimsby or Newcastle. Sadly there's no way of tracking which port your car will arrive unless you know the exact boat it was on when leaving Emden.

Really none wiser then! They said 'hopefully...stock within the next couple of weeks' so it's very non committal

Don't think I've ever had a car take that long from port to dealer before.

From what I understand, the delays at Grimsby are adding 3-4 weeks at the mo. My mates RS6 was supposed to be ready for Sunday collection, yet it still isn't with the dealer afaik. Don't want to freak you too much, more of a warning. What it's all about I don't know.

Edit - just checked & the delays are dealer related, not Port. His car was shipped to Stirling instead of Guildford.

ooops.

I actually only live 25mins away from Grimsby, so might have to hop the fence and look for a Misano RS4, shouldn't be too many in there! :jump:

If his car had been stuck in grimsby for 4 weeks, it'd stink of fish :)

My brothers Golf GTi was due last week, but there's still no sign of it. He's been told that there are delays at the UK ports and promised it'll be the end of March at the latest...
