Post by Noyjatat » Sat Feb 14, 2015 10:02 am

Well dropped the car in to MRC today for a full carbon clean and a gearbox map tweak.

Will post the results next weekend after I have picked it back up.

Slightly less build up I reckon, but still worth a clean up.

Looking forward to results.

I'll definitly be interested to see the before and after results of this. Can you also describe your driving habits in your summary. :thumb:

I bought the car at 34,000 miles in late July. Now on 42,000. I poodle around town, am foot heavy on slip roads and every couple of weeks get it up to around 140 on the airfield.

Not sure how the previous owners used or abused it but based on lack of stone chips alone and no signs of respray I would say they didn't use it a whole lot.

Cheers Silas. This coming from the guy who is scared to race his missus in her pocket rocket.

Just to be clear this is in an RS5 but there seems to be a much larger following on the RS4 side of things so figured I would post it here as it's my understanding it is the same engine.

Kerbs are the only things that stop them totalling the whole side of the car so no kerbs equals write off!

Cheers buddy. Doug said he would take pics so I will post those when I get them to give you guys a rough idea of what sort of buildup you will have after 40,000 miles. For those of you that keep them for that long that is :)

Sorry buddy. It's on the RS5 section. Posted here as it's pretty much the same engine and figured the carbon info would be useful with the growing number of RS4 owners.
