Hello from New Owner (Nearly)

Post by sideways » Wed Oct 29, 2014 1:33 pm

Just a quick hello,
I've just ordered a Sepang Blue RS4 from Lincoln Audi for delivery Feb/Mar 2015.
As with every wait for a new car i am spending way too much time browsing the internet for every tiny morsel of info on my new car! :nogarors4:
Will miss my Cayenne (and its 100 litre fuel tank), but now the wife has a Q3 i don't need such a big car any more. Not sure how the mini-me will cope with launch control!
Can't wait!

Good choice of car and colour. My daughter and her mates love launch control. Ordered my car 4th Nov last year and was driving it by Feb 7th. What is the spec?

I think FON and welcome are in order....

For the wait:

Thanks for the FON!

Spec is:
Sepang Blue
Fine Nappa leather, Black/Black/Black/Black
Convenience Pack (I'm 6'3 and the other half is 5'2)
Heated seats
Parking System Advanced
B & O
Hill hold - not sure why, i think the dealer just made £65 easy quid from me. :?
Seems to have pretty much everything else i need as standard nowadays.

I agonised over DRC/Sports package, but i firmly believe the chassis guys know the best wheel/suspension and that is usually standard. I don't drive on a track, just third world UK roads, quite often with a noisy 2 year old in the back!

I think there is some truth in what you say regarding wheel/suspension upgrades. Cars often work better on the road as they come and the larger wheels and lower suspension etc. may look racey but probably don't ride as well. All a matter of personal taste though which is why the manufacturers give us so much choice with the possible options - and to rake in a bit of extra cash!

Welcome & FON :bigwave:

Another Lincoln Audi customer, who did you deal with?

Look forward to seeing the car when it arrives and before you ask, which you will do in about fours months time, I would wait until 1st March to pick it up :nodder:

Here is another couple of Sepang pictures to keep you going :beerchug:

Thanks

I dealt with Niall on the RS4 and can't remember who on the Q3.
Niall wife decided to have a baby midway through negotiations so Ben took over.
They made a lovely error in the price and honoured it, so ended up with a properly good discount even compared to Drivethedeal.

So far great service on both cars and way better than the Stealer in Guildford...

Not too worried about the 1st March as i have plate coming off the Cayenne anyway. I never keep a car long enough that i win on the resale!

Congrats on the purchase, colour choice and spec. I never went for the sports pack either and don't regret it to be honest. I reckon the standard wheels and suspension are spot on and no DRC knocking or issues to worry about. The wheels have a nice concave that you don't always see from some pics including the brochure which is a shame.
Some pictures of mine since you won't see too many on 19's from what I've seen in my last 5 months of ownership!

I really like the cut of the 19 inch wheels too.

Apologies for my ignorance but not sure if my car has DRC or not.... I have a choice between dynamic, comfort and auto suspension in the 'individual' drive select but is this DRC? I know I don't have sports pack due to the 19 inch wheels.

I may be jumping in before i even have the car but i do tend to read A LOT!
As i understand the DRC is an additional side to side damper control.
All RS4's have Drive Select, which is what i believe you are describing.

(Stands back and waits to be corrected)

Only checking - you're not "verysideways" off of Pistonheads, are you?
