Titanium RS4 Exhausts - feedback needed

Hi all

We've looked at various options of Titanium system and came up with a cat back valved systems as we want to avoid the drone from Stainless Steel but still have an amazing sound that Titanium offers.

Weve done a lot of Akrapovic systems for many other cars but had little or no interest on the RS4 as the price (not the quality) is just a little too high for most pockets at £4,800 without downpipes.
After several discussions with them to offer downpipes or the possibility of buying systems from them without the expensive carbon trims and they wont offer me anything outside of the catalogue designs which we have to respect.
We can try and organise a group buy if you wish - but prices wont come down much & also looking at 0% Finance deals over 12mths and 24mths.

There's no denying that their product is amazing and the detail that's gone into the carbon tail tips is second to none but we think we've come up with an alternative at a price that most can afford. So there's a few options we have shortlisted:

System inc downpipes - fitted or delivered £2,995 inc vat
System not downpipes - fitted or delivered £2,695 inc vat

These are priced to use the factory exhaust trims and were looking into getting trims done in Titanium also to match but this will be extra to above.
  • - Hand build in the UK and I've been reassured that TUV approval can be obtained for our overseas drivers too.
    - These Titanium systems will be around 65% lighter than an OEM system and come with a lifetime guarantee also.
    - Our R&D will have dyno reports before and after fitted to show proven power outputs however large or small.
    - Finally......the first 10 customers will get an extra 10% off these prices too.
It will have to sound amazing, give more power and have little or zero drone for us to even sign it off for release so rest assured it will be special..!

We have to order a minimum of 15 units just to get this project off the ground and really need your honest opinions before we go ahead and get this off the ground and we've yet to make a system for testing on our very own demo car.

Look forward to hearing from you all soon.

Big Glenn

I know this offer is for the B8's but a couple of questions if I may:
  • What diameter pipe would you use?
    Is the system valved?
Would a B7 option be considered?

Yes system will be valved...

Diameter TBC depending on power outputs..

Noise As per sport (valves open) on valves closed, and a bit meatier open
Plus, some kind of override so they don't automatically open at 3k/90mph on the motorway

Thinking along the lines of if you can get the r & d sorted and the TUV approved then you could be on to a winner and the world and especially Europe would be your oyster....
This is where some American tuners fell flat as they underestimated the importance the European market recognising the TUV approval .

Good luck with the project and maybe interested in the finished product.

Thanks John

We already export to over 30 countries and our European customers are very important to us.

From my perspective, having the Capristo on mine means I wouldn't look to change now. However, if the system had been available when I took the plunge I would have considered it over either a Milltek or Capristo for sure....

Graeme, you still planning on an exhaust or have you had it done?

I agree re: your comments on 3k/90mph but I have to say it doesn't really bother me now. Would be nice to have the option of 100% quiet or 100% loud.

It's pending wife giving up work or not and eating into my R8 budget
If I get an r8, then my RS4 stays stock
If not, then I'll get an exhaust
I've got an R8 V10 demo for a week from tomorrow, so might try and twist the wife's arm that way :)
