R8 steering wheel paddles?

Post by Rutters4 » Sun Aug 10, 2014 9:28 pm

Audi were stupid enough to have entrusted me with a V10 plus for the weekend, (cheers Audi, what a motor!). :kissmyrings:

The thing is, I've found that I've been changing gear manually the whole time via the steering wheel paddles. Now I know the sound of the V10 at 8k was the main reason for that but I also really liked using those paddles. The steering wheel itself was not as good as the RS4 but the paddles were much better.

Does anyone know if you can retrofit the same, (or similar) paddles to the RS4 wheel....?

Cheers. :beerchug:

(Also, is there any way of getting that engine to fit...?!)

No they don't fit i tried this the backing plate on the paddles are a different size
i bought a set thinking it would be a easy fit or i could change the backing plate but no
a £400 lesson but sold them to Glenn for his RS3 and recouped some of my money they also fit the C6 RS6

they are lovely thought billet aluminum very nice

you'll just have to live with the plastic ones or look at some after market ones but any i have seen just look a bit halfords

The paddles on the MY13 B8 are smaller than the MY14, not as nice by any stretch of the imagination. I had contemplated changing mine, but it's purely cosmetic & I don't think I can be arsed tbh. However, these are rather nice:

Awesome, trouble is I've hunted through audi parts catalogues and can't find those bananas anywhere, I would have liked to go OEM, but assuming I can find an after market bunch that fits the RS4 wheel, (you have obviously been lucky to find those two...) would you use some kind of epoxy to bond them on, or just a regular super glue...?

Also I'm a bit concerned I might eat them on my way to work if I get a bit peckish.
