Tyre pressure monitor

Hi all,
I was driving earlier this week when all of a sudden the tyre pressure alarm kicked in and said I should immediately check all 4 tyres.
As well as shitting me up I pulled over to visually check and then went to the next garage to check. All 4 tyres were fine.
The only thing I can relate it to was the road surface suddenly changed from nice black Tarmac to those horrible concrete roads, that's when the alarm kicked in.
Anyone else faced this or do you reckon it's a one off?
Cheers
A

I've had the warning come on, and pressures were down, but nothing to write home about. It did seem a little dramatic to say the least. I was parked up on the driveway when mine went off, so I feared I had a puncture. Maybe its just all or nothing.

Mine came on last night, pulled over to check pressures but couldn't find anything manual or door - what's everyone's running pressures?

I swapped rears to the front and vice versa which triggered my TPMS. I run mine at what Audi say on the
Sticker.

It is on the edge of the driver's door (i.e. the door itself, not stuck in the door jamb like they used to be).
Took me a while to find it the other day.

Interesting, the label on mine puts the 20in summer wheels at the same pressure as the winters shown in the picture (rather than the same as the 19in).
I assume it is something to do with equipment level?

I suppose you guys already figured this one out, but decline in temperature (outside) can trigger the warning. If you set the pressure values at say +25 degrees, and then the temperature drops to say +10 degrees, this could be the cause. Also, tires will naturally deflate slightly over time, maybe 1 psi over a month or 2...

I've had mine go off randomly, and tyres seem ok, and then got a full flat puncture and it didn't go off.
IIRC, the system works on wheel speed sensors and then determines that an increase in wheel speed (from radius decreasing if the tyre's flat) could be a flat tyre, rather than the individual tyre pressure sensors that other brands use

I would agree. I was having a spirited run up the M1 last year when I noticed the catseye sounding very hard when I changed lane. No warning came up until I slowed down on the hard shoulder..... Full flat front offside - beautiful
