Service plan - worth it?

Hi,

My local dealership is trying to flog me a service plan for the RS4 I collected two weeks ago. I think they call it emap or something

£36.63 a month for 39 months (includes two services - one at 18000 miles and the second at 36000 miles) based on my doing 10000 miles a year

So basically £1430 quid for two services (inflation proofed apparently)

Anyone any opinions on whether its worth doing - or is the cost of the first two services via an Audi dealership typically more or less that £1430 quid?

Cheers for your points of view :-)

A

£1430! Thats crazy! Pay yourself, you can service it where you like plus you can haggle too.

I recently paid less than a quarter of that for an audi variable service and brake fluid service including oil, oil filter, air filter and pollen filter on my 4.2 S4

So I could have four of those (ie change the oil twice as regularly) for less than the price of that deal for two services. £1430 and not being allowed a first service until 18000 miles is nuts!

Thanks Ian - yeah I thought it sounded a lot - just not having had an RS before, I wasn't sure if there was additional servicing required over and above normal costings.

Cheers!

Best advise would be to haggle hard! I rung about five or six dealers when the S4 was due its first service in my ownership, I kid you not the cheapest was very nearly HALF the most expensive. That was for a routine AVS + BFS - nothing special like plugs, brakes, battery etc etc

I have one for mine but I am paying way less and I get 3 services not 2 :bigblink:

Haggle hard and you will get it for less :bigwave:
