You should put a video of the sound differences up :biggrin3:

Wow ! In my opinion the nicest exhaust on the market by a mile. Hope ya manage to get some good sound clips when you get all fitted.

Jealous.com as I will never be able to afford an exhaust at that price. Lol.

Have to reiterate it again...... Absolute class ! Enjoy buddy !

Richard.

Looks really nicely engineered
I'd be interested to hear what it sounds like and how the comfort mode compares with the normal OE sound as I'm thinking of one too

Overall I am happy with the quality of the exhaust. It has a nice satin sheen which looks classy and reminds me of the RS4's side mirror housing.

It is not the lightest exhaust I have ever come across. The walls of the pipes are slightly thick, presumably to pass governing bodies sound controls.

Not competent enough to comment on the welding so maybe others can chime in after looking at the pictures. Looks a bit light and could use more welding in some spots?

Comes with a European TUV certificate. This is important for some of us to help getting it certified for road use.

Stock exhaust removed. I am currently, or was running the Sports Exhaust. Sports Exhaust tips not shown.

The exhaust has dents in many places. It looks like the factory mechanics probably knocked it in various places for fitment or installation issue. I have seen this on other cars too.

Welding looks more secure than Akrapovic.

While I was there I met a bunch of GTR owners who were buying parts from another GTR owner. A used Akrapovic exhaust was sold also and the new owner and I got to compare notes on the Akrapovic exhausts when new and used.

Here we can see when the carbon fiber tips are used and has gone through many heat cycles, it might lose it's clear coat luster.

Here you can see what happens to the titanium exhaust after usage. It will turn a nice blue/violet colour typical of titanium.

A drive home allows me to briefly sample the exhaust. It is definitely louder than the sports exhaust. (I don't remember what the stock one sounded like anymore)

-When I start up the car, the Akrapovic definitely makes the car's presence felt. It's not obnoxious, but rather politely telling people eh I am no soccer mom car. IMO the factory sports exhaust should have sounded like this.
-It doesn't drone, and is as quiet as the sports exhaust during idle.
-Between 1000 to 1500 rpm I do feel some slight discomfort in my ears from the exhaust sound but only slightly. It is louder in this range than the sports exhaust also, but only moderately.
-From 2000rpm onwards there is no more ear pressure, and is moderately louder than the sports exhaust, but is smoother, lower pitched and has a meatier grunt.

The Akrapovic site's exhaust clips is pretty close to what I am experiencing. There is a white RS5 with Akrapovic on YouTube which makes a "tutt-tutt-tutt" sound like a machine gun as the engine drags towards the red line, mine doesn't have that.
