Exclusive NIMBUS GREY collected today

Post by XDV » Wed Mar 26, 2014 12:14 am

Gentlemen, my new baby arrived today after a 9 month wait - thanks to the delay for adding Exclusve paint!

Nimbus Grey (nimbusgrau), the colour of the original TT concept car way back and I believe seen on a recent TT-RS edition. Dunno why but I really fancied it, wanted an industrial almost-flat tone and I reckon it suits the car's character well. Subtle, but evil

Bit of an overcast day here, and was quite late by the time I collected, so the pics are a bit dull, I'll add more photos when the sun's out. Pretty sure this will have a bit of "flip" to it depending on the light source.

Spec. for anyone interested:

- Exclusive Nimbus Grey paint
- Black nappa leather with grey piping
- Piano black inlays
- Sports package incl. High Gloss 20" Rotors
- Parking System Advanced
- Convenience package
- Privacy glass
- Heated front seats
- Rear side airbags
- 5 year warranty

55 delivery miles on the clock, did a quick blast tonight so it's up near 100 now - great car, really really happy with it

Agree with you there, titanium wheels and black optics would have clashed with this colour. I saw one of the limited edition TT's in the showroom in this colour and it is very nice.

Btw, your tax disc is missing :P

Liking the Nimbus grey

Not 100% sure of the rotors & lack of Black optics, but seeing her in the flesh would help. Good for you for being a little more unique though. If I'd sorted my sh1t out I would have done the same rather than been so bloody impatient!!!

Well spotted! Apparently will be sent direct from DVLA, dealer was kind enough to tax for a year and a week so it will run from 1st April :)

I honestly thought the standard seven or so colours were a rather limited selection, plus minimum £650 or whatever for anything non-white! Basically a £1,500 upgrade to a choice of over a hundred - was torn between this, a light baby blue A1 colour called Cumulus and a rich burgundy called Dark Red Mica - so lots of ideas were on the table, defo wanted something different.

So Panzer grey it is! It's the colour of a Tiger tank, suitably Germanic LOL
Cheers,
David.

100% agree, nice for people to compliment someone who's taken time to post!. Congrats.

It's like saying "...great colour, love it but in Blue with Vs it would be perfect...." :)

IMHO dark wheels and black optics/mirrors are a bit "Max Power". For me the Nogaro and Misano are the only colours which can handle black optics.

Way back in the day, I had Nimbus TTC...loved it.

Great colour,

Black optics would make it look like a "show car" …………... which would also look good though.
