1) 19" stock wheel is 10.9kg
2) 20" Vspoke wheel is 14.1kg
Some members feel the difference in weight is too high.
I was also interested in custom Forgelines because they have some really lightweights. They requested me to have my wheel well, calipers, hub etc measurements taken. While I was at it I had the tyre of my stock 19" taken off and weighed the wheel.
I had a nagging feeling the previous weights given above might be wrong and the subsequent ones given to me were wrong also. So I contacted the local parts department again and requested to have access to their database. Went down, made sure the wheels models are correct and copied down the weight. They were given in grams.
1) 19" stock rim is approximately 10.915 kg
2) 20" V-spoke is aproximately 13.9 kg
3) 20" Rotor rim is approximately 14.11kg
I think the weight of the 19" is close enough now(the office numbers are prob without valve stem and center cap) I can accept the above numbers.
It also occurred to me when I took off my wheels that the 19" has a machined finish on the flat surfaces on the front. I only notice it when it's off and Forgeline has it as one of the finishes for their wheels. In case anyone is interested.
