Just been reading how easy it is to steal these 'unstealable' cars with key programmers that plug into the Vagcom port.
I really dont want to lug around a big steering wheel lock so was wondering if there are any devices that can lock access to the Vagcom port (seems they exist for vans already) or even something that could lock into the keyfob hole on the dash to block that? Or failing that how easy would it be to have a hidden switch that cuts off the Vagcom port?

They also do a OBD lock but thats for BMW's

It should be easy enough to hook in a switch.

obd ports are (and nof follows some dodgy ascii art)

16 is battery +ve and 4 is chassis ground -ve
(I think 5 is signal ground but not sure)
Anyway - you can tell the ground pins as if you look at the connector on an obd device, pins 4 and 5 should be slightly longer so as to ground the connection before any voltage is applied.

It would be interesting to see what happens if you make the power pins switchable - I'm fairly sure most odb devices won't work unless they get a +12v supply from the port.
I wouldn't mess with the can high/low pins as these are twisted pair cables and very very sensitive to being messed about with.
