New vs. 2nd Hand

Hi all,
I currently drive a B7 rs4 but in a few month Its extended warranty will be ending and as its passed the 100k miles mark cannot be extended. So as sad as will be to see it go. Go it must.
I have never bought a new Audi, or any car for that matter, but have seen a B8 RS4 for sale at £49k. I have configured the new car in the audi configurator to about £56-57k.
I am basically wondering whether to get the second hand car with 4k miles on the clock, or a new one.
From reading other post in this forum, would i be correct in assuming there is a £5000 Audi contribution i might be able to claim, as well as a % discount on The On the road price for a new RS4. Realistically what sort of discount could i ask for and expect to get? 5%, 7%, 10% more/less?
any help would be most appreciated.

If you go to Carwow.co.uk and do a quick config based on the sort of spec you desire, you then get quotes from Audi stealers who are subscribed.

I did this for fun, putting together a B8 RS4 with sports kit, B&O, Sunroof and in Grey - list price about £62k, without finance, the best offer was about £54k, with Finance (Which in theory you can run, then pay off after a couple of months) the contributions made the price £48k - £14k off!

For me, this has taken the gap between a B8 and my B7 right down - like you, I was perusing the 2nd hand options out there and doing man maths to try and make it work, but with a brand new specific one owner/factory build car for the same or less money, this becomes a serious proposition!

I don't doubt that, and it was only from 2 dealers out of 6 that responded. Demonstrates that they want to move more cars.

Yes agree that there will be a few months wait, but for such a massive saving, I would wait!

Must be ordered before end March and delivered before end June to qualify for finance contribution.

Have tried carwow. Could somebody (via pm if needed) give me details of dealers getting getting to sub-50 figures for well new rs4s please? By well spec'ed I mean all the toys apart from buckets and 'ramics

you're not going to get a good spec for under 50k new,a more realistic figure would be 55k,maybe someone that has got one for under 50k would be honest enough to post up but i think you will find lots of talk but not any actual purchases under 50k new,bog stock basic maybe 50-52,mine came in about 54 with about 7k extras added (its almost a grand for first year road tax)

Hi,

On carwow I got a quote of £49,600 ish on a car with a spec of nearly £63k from Leicester Audi.

However they seemed very reluctant to confirm the quote by email, although they did email back promptly. They wanted me to call in for a more detailed chat, which is all good, but I'm in North Yorkshire. I'm pushing local dealers for discounts before going any further with it.

the list on mine is £65,262 and was reduced down to £53,755 (that includes the £5k Audi contribution for taking out finance) - I guess nearly 18% - so I was happy with that

ended up getting a demonstrator for a good deal. I know I should have bought new, but I got the car in 48hrs, and have not stopped grinning since

I spec'd an RS4 with B&O, Pan roof, privacy glass and sports pack with Daytona grey paint - list price was £61,380 - offer of £48,234 from Leicester Audi.
I have not followed this up as was just (trying) some planning and man maths. Unfortunately the £30k or so gap between my B7 and a new car is still needed elsewhere before a new car is possible!
