Audi Drive Select
Audi Drive Select
I got the car for a week and thought the Audi Drive select system is quite intuitive. Before I got the car I couldn't find much about it so I thought I should write a short blurb for would be owners. It would also help with the options ordering process. I will get to that in a minute.
This is the first screen. You can see it has 4 modes. Each mode switches each driving settings to either Dynamic or Comfort. It's really Jekyll and Hyde, there are no degrees of intensity for each setting.
Comfort mode sets all settings to Comfort.
Dynamic mode sets all settings to Dynamic(Sports)
Auto mode. I have not used this but I think the computer decides on this depending on how it evaluates your driving style and mood. So settings inside can change to Comfort or Dynamic on the fly.
Individual mode. You get to go into a separate screen and set each settings manually to Dynamic or Comfort.
Now what settings you get to set depends on the options when you specced your car.
I think this includes the Dynamic Steering only.
I think this includes the Dynamic Steering and Dynamic Ride Control.
I think this includes the Dynamic Steering, Dynamic Ride Control and Sports Exhaust.
I am still figuring out what settings I prefer but it's actually not as complicated as some journalists make it out to be. Just remember 4 different modes, settings available are dependent on your spec and there is only Comfort/Dynamic. There is really something for everyone here. Auto for someone who doesn't want to figure it out. Comfort for cruising. Dynamic for track. Individual for someone with who knows exactly what they want. I suspect most will only stay in one or two modes once they get used to the system.

Re: Audi Drive Select
Yep. To control the exhaust flap/valve, just turn "Engine/gearbox" or "Engine sound" to Dynamic.

Re: Audi Drive Select
Worth remembering though that it'll always start with flaps closed, so you'll need to go from D to S to open them

No more crimping of the actuator tubing to make it loud all the time a la TTRS et al.Graeme4130 wrote:Worth remembering though that it'll always start with flaps closed, so you'll need to go from D to S to open them
Audi Drive Select
Don't forget the option to set drive select quickly via the button on the dash, as apposed to MMI. It's often the easiest method when you have TEL/NAV/RADIO or MEDIA (TV) 'up' on the MMI already.

Re: Audi Drive Select
If you have the sports pack there is a separate ""exhaust" setting so you can leave it on. As Graeme says you need to wait a fees secs and click it into S and then back to D for it to open.steviefleming wrote:nwk00 wrote:Yep. Having had a couple of hours in the car I've found it will need some getting used to at speed but at lower speeds (probably 80% of the time) t is a hoot to drive. I've managed to get a bit of a 4 wheel drift going off a wet roundabout and it makes you feel properly in control. (Sports diff is in Dynamic)
Dynamic mode is for the track without doubt.
I think it will take a while to fully appreciate the car's dynamics and capabilities........I am looking forward to this as once understood it will be a great car.
I can understand why some people haven't got on with the car after a short run. You do need an extended time in the car to get to grips with it.
This works for me currently:

Re: Audi Drive Select
I've not ordered the sports pack
Am I still able to have the drive set into normal (not dynamic ) , but the engine noise on / exhaust flaps open ?
