20" Wheel Specs for B8 RS4

Post by BMW2RS4 » Sat Jan 18, 2014 8:22 pm

Hi All,

Newbie saying hello; I'm soon to re-join the Audi fold and have an order for a Daytona Grey RS4 scheduled for build week 6.

I like to use a separate set of alloys/tyres for winter motoring so was considering a set of 20" rotors as a change to the 20" V spokes that I have on order. Have been looking at a set on ebay from an RS5 with the following spec:

20" x 9" ET26

Rang the local Audi dealership to check that these would fit the RS4 and was told that they wouldn't as they are the wrong offset? They were unable to (or wouldn't) tell me the actual offset required but did offer a winter/tyre package for £3000 which raised an element of mistrust about this information.

Apologies if this has been covered before but can anyone advise the actual offset for the RS4 20" alloys?

Thanks in advance

David

20s are ET26
19s are ET24

As you say, the 5 and 4 share common parts. No reason they'd be different.

Thanks for confirming that

I've a feeling that they were on a mission to sell me the 'official' winter wheel/tyre set so tried to fob me off with spurious information to deter me from going down the DIY route.

Thanks again

As an aside, you're likely to better off with 19s for winter. Better availability of rubber and cheaper to boot.

IMHO, the Michelins are worth the expense as they will be on the car for upto 5 months a year and that will represent 5 months less wear on the summers.

I do agree that verd's are excellent as I had them on my last car; however, even if I were to revert to 19s, they don't seem to make them in size 265/35r19; only 265/30r19. In my experience, insurance companies are pedantic enough at the mere mention of using winter tyres not to mention using a different size to the ones that came with the car.

Thanks again for all the advice
