Road test

Hi guys well it's road test time today :jump:

So we arrived at Aberdeen Audi today at lunch to get the order in and pick up the demo, so the final spec was almost the same as I had pre chosen so here it is

Milano red
Sport pack with v spokes
Pano roof
Leather/alcantara seats
Heated seats
High connect
B&O audio
Hill hold assist
Privacy glass

As you can see I haven't gone wild and to say I am a happy guy is a understatement, colour was the problem as I simply could not choose, but upon getting to the dealership theirs is red with the pano roof, standard optics and v spokes...........I was instantly sold on the colour choice :biggrin3:

So the road test had two functions today , see how I get on with the gearbox and how the new pram fits in the boot. So pram Shop was up in Fraserburgh and happy to say that there is actually more room in the boot of the RS4 than the SQ5 we have so it fits in with room to spare . Now Graeme had told us that the previous guy who drove it "booted" it so the gearbox had adapted to that style driving, now after a while it retuned to our day to day driving and was very pleasant to use.

But you guys never mentioned anything about how addictive that induction noise is mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm , So during today that's over 100 miles covered with a variety of driving styles and it averaged 24.1 mpg  , that's the same that our old B8 S4 was doing but I know cars like this aren't designed with fuel economy in mind . I do miss the in gear torque that the SQ5 has in spades, but once accustomed to the box dropping a cog or two is kinda forgotten about.

So car goes back tomorrow lunchtime and we have a build slot of week 3 next year

Hope I haven't dribbled on too much guys, but I honestly never thought this day would come

I am going to give it a wash this morning before taking it back just to see how bright the paint actually is . The test car doesn't have the sports exhaust so I am just wondering how much louder it is over stock , god this is going to be a long wait but well worth it

Take some pics before you give it back.
I've been wondering why there isn't more red RS4's, it was always going to be my second choice colour and I think it suits it very well
I have the sports exhaust on mine, it's not much louder, but gives a slightly better 'rasp' to the sound and a better lower down noise
On comfort, then it's pretty stealth and not dissimilar to the standard system

I have been told on many occasions by stealers that Red is considered undesirable (i.e. 'worth less') than most other colours. Fontain for example simply refused to give me a trade-in price on my Red S4 Avant in 2008. I think an RS4 B8 in red looks awesome - there was one in Scotland on the Audi used network a little while ago - and 'I would'. Just need a bit more money first!

Agree, Misano can look good but is a resale pain.

Red didn't suit the B7 IMHO, which is why resale is hard
However, the B8 has so,e very pretty lines, so the red, a colour why shows the lines, is much better suited
Red with grey VSpokes as per Dave's pics is a lovely car indeed

Well guys here is a few pics of the demo RS4 we had, decided to give it a quick snow foam and meguiars before taking it back just to see how the red popped when it's shiny, and I am glad we went with misano but opted to keep the standard optics as I think the brushed aluminium really suits the colour
