Bugger, managed to find a guide online and looks like it's the 'emissions control' light and 'that I should drive immediately to an approved dealer without delay or can cause damage to the catalysts"
Looks I'm driving to Devon and back tomorrow (350mikes round trip) in the wife's crappy countryman with girly stripes

Could just be a faulty sensor. Best to get it on
Vag Com to see what's going on ASAP
Hope that helps

Plead disaster with your local. They might just come up trumps!

There's not an immediate rush to get to Devon this morning (am heading to down to pick my mother up from some friends), so I'll take it into Swindon Audi at 9am as they open and see what they can do
He's been trying to offload their RS6 demo on me for a few days, so I may see if I can grab that
Most likely, I'll get something horrendous like a gold A3 diesel with beige trim. Still, it's better than the wife's countryman

Audi Swindon came up trumps
The emissions light was on as I'd run the tank down to zero miles last night (a couple of high speed runs on an empty DV with some mates) and it threw up a low fuel pressure code
Car was reset in 30 seconds, but they were adamant I had their RS6 for 24hrs as they wanted the clean my car (go figure, but as it has two rainy day trips to devon and back of dirt on it, I wasn't going to argue)
Anyway, I have their RS6 for 24hrs, which is currently a very nice place to sit and go nowhere as the M5 is now shut

Despite taking best part of 12hours to drive to devon and back today, I did get a chance to time the car from a standing start on my reasonably reliable iphone app
Anyway, the road was a little damp and no launch control made getting it off the line quickly not easy, but check the 0-100 time
I'll head out a bit later when the roads are emptier for a proper blast, but it's safe to say my RS4 is going to seem rather slow tomorrow morning when I drop this RS6 back
Finally arrived in devon;

Can not believe you actually got test drive, audi milton Keynes did almost very thing they could not to give a test drive .but when I popped to the parts department to got the rear load cover the sales guy came out and made some noises he was still trying to arrange it,after I pointed out my new car still with less than 250 miles the clock I think he might have said " bugg@r". But ha ho might pop down again and give another go .....
Did you really let them clean your car ... Very brave move .

I've got a pretty decent relationship with the guys there and they know me well, so I tend to get offered new cars on demo rather than having to ask.
I'm sure if you've bought your RS through them, then it's in their interest to try and tempt you into something else and lending you their demo costs the sales guy nothing
I don't mind them washing it. I've seen them do it, and it's a decent job without any obvious gravelly sponges
Plus, as my car's Suzuka, it doesn't show swirl marks anyway like my last black one did

Not as quick as a C6 with just remap and filters by a long chalk. Mine did repeated and I mean 20 times in a row 0-60 3.9 AND 0-100 7.8.

Bit of an unfair comparison. Stock vs stock there's no comparison. C7 has moved things on as you would expect, it's also happier going around corners, it inspires a lot more confidence than C6 does. And, of course, the toys are bang up to date. There are elements of the C6 interior I prefer, but all in all it's definitely the better car.

Haven't lots of test also produced 3.9 0-60 for the C7?
Remap and filters on a C7 I would expect to blow away an equivilant C6.
