As per the title really, coming from a B7 RS4 I was wondering if the B8 also had the mini sun visor above the rear view mirror?

No, it doesn't (well, my MY2013 car doesn't)

i hope so as that would be a deal clincher for me

It does have the sunglasses holder though, which although not ideal, can open up and provide partly the same function

Thanks for taking the time to post the photo Graeme. Its a shame it wasn't continued across to the B8, I quite liked that little shade.

No probs, was sat in the car cleaning it out at the time.
I liked it in my B7 too, but have somewhere were I can stash raybans without my kids breaking them is very helpful too

In retrospect it does sound a trivial query, the main motivator was my planning where to mount a BlackVue DR550-GW 2ch dashcam. I thought the mini sunvisor may hide it for a discreet installation.

I had a new RS6 for a bit this afternoon, and that didn't have one either

It's a victim of the cost reductions made by Audi's bean counters.

It made me go and have a look at what the fuss was about ! I would never had spotted said flappage tbh

Once you've had it you really miss it when it's not there on another car.

My wife's Fabia has extensions on the sun visors to do the same job, and my C1 has had an extended glare prevention area added around the mirror base (i.e. black matt sticky backed plastic!).

the auto lights/dimming mirror base is that big it covers most of the middle anyway
