RS4 vs RS6 Help

All,
I have my RS4 coming end of the month, Daytonna plus almost every option ticked.
Today I was in the dealer and they have an RS6 in blue in the showroom.
It would cost me around £15k more than the RS4 (since it is well specced as standard, their showroom on has LED lights, radar cruise, cameras and nice wheels, around £5k of options) and my RS4 is loaded with about £18k of options.
I am so tempted to switch - views?
RS6 looks absolutely awesome and is a second quicker to 60....

Drive both then decide!
I suspect both do things brilliantly but have strengths so ask yourself which one fits you best
Nice dilemma to have
Good luck

I'm heading down to drive the RS6 in a couple of hours I hope.
I'll let you know what I think.

Completely different beasts....
Only way to find out is to drive them. About time they sorted Millbrook!

I've been pestering my dealer to let me have one for 24hrs, so I can get a proper test of it.
Much like B7 vs C6, they're going to be very different animals. One smaller and fairly nimble (for a 1700kg estate car) and one a motorway crusher
I'd suggest asking the dealer to have both cars available for a day and drive them both back to decide for yourself

Here is how I see it:
RS4 - "older" engine, more about higher revs than torque, older looking interior etc
RS6 - newer engine, more torquey (I drove the S8 with this engine and got 7 mpg for a day so I don't expect better economy than RS4), newer interior and toys etc
They are both faster than anyone really needs in the UK
I have 2 kids and a dog and I am sure they would be happier in the 6
But this was supposed to be our "smaller" family car not the same size as the other one....
Residuals-wise I am not sure there will be much in it.
Driving both I will try to do next weekend (the one I would buy is in the showroom unregistered).
On the motorway I reckon the 6 would be nicer ( it also has a quiet glass option).
But it is more money and when you start talking £80k lots of other things at the 18month old mark open up..... (e.g. 18month old AM Rapide...)

Would have thought residuals will be better with 4 and it also has less to loose in value terms.
6 will be more comfy but less chuckable I would imagine.
Interior doesn't look that old in a 4
Dog won't fit in a rapid

Properly spec'd RS6 is 100k. It will lose 30% in no time. Look at Liverpool's car in the used ads, already 73. This is a brand new model, if demand is high these cars often go for list.
I reckon residuals on the 4 are currently stronger.
There's little difference in the interiors really. I was actually disappointed in the 6, wasn't the step forward from the C6 I was expecting.
Then there's the quilted seats....not sure I like them with contrast stitching.
Personally I'd keep the 4 and have a mid life crisis at the same time.

Quilted seats in the 6 really do it for me. If I could have had fully electric memory quilted buckets in the 4 I would have done.
It really annoys me when my wife drives the cars and screws up the seating... Fully electric memory seats are a must..
When I specced up a 6 on-line I got to £110k, but this one is listed at £85k and in real life it is not really short of things, the only thing it really misses is the sunroof.
Buyer's remorse is a terrible thing and when 4 weeks before you pick up something you have waited 5 months for you see something else that is tempting it really does your head in....
In reality I think I stick with the 4 but I will take the finance committee down for a sit in the 6 later today to see what she thinks (as long as I get the dealer to take the price
Stickers off the car first it will be ok).

Ok. Have decided to stick with the 4.
More nimble and easier to park is the summary and £15k in my pocket helps. If I get sad about the 6 I can always count it.
The boss was fine either way surprisingly!

Ok.
Just driven the '6'
I know this is just my opinion etc but I found it very fast but dull!

That's a lot of people's opinions, don't feel bad.
Awesome car but we can't fool ourselves into thinking it is a cornering weapon. It's well over 4000 lbs and is 193" long or something. It's a teutonic tourer. A great one. It's halfway between an b8 rs4 and a d2 s8. Its a foot longer than a b7. Like the m5 it is up against and the new e, it is not a tossable sized car anymore. It's very grown up.

Indeed, having slept a few nights on it I am even more comfortable about taking the 4 not the 6.
Mine is now at the UK docks waiting dealer delivery etc, obviously I delay it until 1 Sept.
Still excited like a 7 year old...
I plan a round trip to Scotland and back to run everything in gently then the fun begins....

You'll enjoy. Although it'll be hard not to push the pedal for full aural pleasure!
