I have been looking at the availiblity of good tyres eg Goodyear Egal F1 A2 or Michelin pilot super sports but neither have the size at the moment to fit the RS4
i e-mailed Godyear and they said that at this time they had no palns to make that size but pointed me to there siter company Dunlop and the SP Sportmaxx GT anyone had any experiance with these tyres also the only michelin tyre in that size is the Pilot Sport 2

What is your thought process?

God no i have told the dealer i do not want pirellis probably the worst tyre i have had on all my RS4 the B5 was dangerous to drive with the very violent tram lining on white line similar but not as bad on the B7 poor levels of grip in the wet also on the demo B8 i had the backens sliped out in moist condition never had theis in any of my RS4 and i don't drive like miss daisy :biggrin3:
Contis i will suffer till there done but the car will be transformed with better rubber

Interesting

I have to say I've been surprised at how wayward the car has been, particularly in the wet so clearly you know something I don't.

Dived in to a roundabout last week (aiming for the 3 o'clock exit)
and it just slid, gathered it up and booted it out towards the exit drifting. Not quite what I was expecting as it wasn't that wet.

I'm sure those on the roundabout thought I was a bit of a knob!

I had back to back experience of Pirelli and PS2's on my M5, the Pirelli's made break away of the back end completely unpredictable, it had such a negative impact overall on how the car handled and tracked (even after breaking them in) I changed them after only 1500 miles back to PS2's...

I also couldn't sell them on so ended up skipping them! Bloody expensive lesson.

Just got this back from Michelin

Thank you for your enquiry about the Michelin Pilot Super Sport.

There are plans to launch the 265/30 ZR 20 (94Y) Pilot Super Sport XL, however we do not as yet have any supply information as they have not yet been released.

Although it is not specifically designed for Audi vehicles, we don't forsee any issues with fitting this tyre to the RS4 as long as they are fitted in a complete set of 4.

At present the available fitment for your vehicle is 265/30ZR20 (94Y) XL PILSPT PS2 RO1

so atleast they have plans to make them and i'll have 1 decent set of tyres for my toy

Are the super sports ok in cold wet weather?

I had a new M5 over Xmas last year with these on and it was lively to say the least

BMW need to crack on and release the M5 with x drive.....same issue as Merc, putting that much grunt through the rear wheels is only ever fun in the summer.

PS2's were they only tyres man enough to put the power down....wear rate was scary!
