As individuals we make individual decisions and if someone else disagrees with your decision, so what?. I think mostly they are probably lacking something in their life and feel compelled to try and make someone else feel as they do.

I personally like the looks and the engine of the RS3 (Wife has "boxy but good" S3) but it could have been a better overall package (yes, TTRS included)....much like the B8 RS4.....but people will still make the decision to go with what they want unless of course they listen to the "warriors" who have nothing better to do.
I'm not the least bit offended by the tripe Saki comes up with, just gets a bit boring hearing it so returned the compliment and he came up as expected with the normal diatribe as is evident on so many forums he frequents and turns into his personal Barry Boys when someone who may know a little more on a particular subject matter than him questions his comments.

LOL come on PG.

Go back and look at what I posted. My opinion on the RS4 vs RS3.

I said the RS4 looks better
I said the RS4 sounds better
I said the RS4 interior is nicer
I said the RS4 AWD feels better than haldex

Then you started challenging me, implying I have no experience / don't know what I'm talking about. Why would you do that unless you were offended I preferred the RS4 to the RS3? I also said the RS3 engine will obliterate the RS4 in which I supported your comments on that, but you skipped that part and instead focused on being bent out of shape.

You offered ZERO rebuttal when I made it clear I have plenty of experience on the matter and that my opinion is just that, my opinion. You then failed to accept my challenge of finding anyone who disagreed with my 4 subjectivr evaluations of the two cars above.

Maybe I'm not a Barry Boy or a hater. Maybe I'm just saying something lots of people think but you don't want to hear it, so you instead make character attacks?

Without wanting to take sides, I find it very hard to take an opinion seriously on a car the poster has neither driven or even seen in the flesh. I think this was ultimately the point being made
However, your posts on RS4's are both detailed and clearly thought out as well as well written

Well, if were to look at the facts, it may change your opinion.

1. I've driven 2 different TTRS. They share the same chassis, transmission, transverse mounted 2.5T engine and the Haldex FWD biased AWD system. I much prefer the feel of a rear biased Torsen to a FWD biased Haldex. In fact I don't think I've ever heard anyone say otherwise, PG included. I've also never heard anyone say that an RS3 rides nicer than an RS4 with ADS.

2. I spent most of June and part of July in France, Germany, Switzerland, Scotland and England, so I had plenty of opportunity to see every single Audi I could ever dream of seeing, including the B8 RS4 and the RS3.

Let's recap my original post and we can see what I said.
I certainly wouldn't want an RS3 instead of an RS4, because 90% of the time, it's a worse car. Rides worse, is smaller, sounds worse, looks worse, feels worse inside, front bias feels worse, etc. But when it comes to acceleration, if you take off Audi's restriction, the RS3 will absolutely FLY.
rides worse - mentioned above
is smaller - can't argue that lol
sounds worse - my opinion having heard them both. I do like the 2.5T but 4.2 FSI > 2.5T
looks worse - my opinion having seen them both
feels worse inside - my opinion owning a B8, and having sat in a 8E RS4 and an 8P RS3
front bias feels worse - mentioned above

Haha, saying the five pot doesn't sound good is like saying a Porsche 918 is slow compared to a McLaren P1. It's all relative, both are pretty darn nice.....

Let's review P_G, an RS3 owner, and his posts in this thread BEFORE I posted in it...truth is he has been acting defensive and Sheila-ish since the thread started. I just managed to call him out for it once he had a go at me.

1. First instance of P_G getting his humph up and being defensive in this thread...
P_G wrote:
HYFR wrote: If they end up on every street corner, its because every wealthy individual wants one, and that's the same as every wanna be pikey gangsta wanting an Audi RS 3

Init
said no one ever. Init.

2. Even more defensive. Now he's again being defensive, and attacking the RS4
P_G wrote:
silas wrote:He was until he found out they are poop, tarted up s3

And Audi still need to give 20% off to shift them they are that good.

3. Here he goes again, shitting on the RS4 and having a go at owners because the car has depreciated and again trying to have a go at RS4 performance

(hey P_G...newsflash...none of us buy expensive sporty cars expecting appreciation lol)

P_G wrote:They shouldn't have been the original ROTR in the first place and if they were that good they would sell with some but not the current amount of discount being proposed. And then you have to feel sorry for those that are in them much like those who are in financed C63's who are then told their cars are worth less than Nick Griffin's bank account unless they are a long term keeper.

And then there are the used RS4's on the market that are retailing for more than you can buy new ones? It has the potential for getting messy.

I'm sure if both the '3 and the '4 were sold at the same time with the figures you suggest it would have been a hard choice but in fairness £42k got you a decent spec '3 whereas even with discount you are talking £50k for a decent spec'ed '4 so there is still a 20% price difference which tech wise agreed is better but I doubt will disappear into the distance on any road or track.

4. More RS4 bashing and RS3 defensiveness
P_G wrote:
lengster1 wrote:They forgot to tart up the RS3,clapping a bumper n skirts on and calling it an RS is lame imo,a black one pulled alongside me with winter wheels on and for a while I thought it was an S3.They go well but I like my cars to look well too!
That is very subjective because IIRC the argument from B7 owners not buying a B8 when pics first came out was that it didn't look aggressive enough. So in fairness the B8 has a different front and rear bumper and some stick on arches, surprisingly enough the same as an RS3. I've seen four B8 RS4's and I too have to double take them to make sure it is an RS if it is not in front or behind me. We all know B7's because we have had them, B8's are not a familiar sight yet, similar to RS3's for you I would suggest so the shape of the B8 to my mind is not familiar.

I'm not knocking the B8 by any stretch of the imagination ...
If you keep having to say that you're not knocking something, you're probably knocking it. Just an FYI.

He then proceeds to knock the B8 RS4 for being too slow, too expensive, will depreciate too much, too hard to modify, and brings it around to saying how much better the RS3 is lol.

P_G wrote: it is a decent car but for me it was either a) priced wrong b) should have had more standard equipment on it for the price or c) should have been a better progression from the B7. From driving the B8 for extended periods three times now the tech is a step forward on the B7 and RS3 but the engine is not a huge step forward over the B7, it is very reliant on being better through s-tronic and is no quicker than an RS3, as flawed as many who comment on here suggest it is. And importantly for me to modify the '3, like I did the B7 and would do the B8 costs a fraction of what it did on the B7 and would on the B8. But then everyone has different criteria and why Audi make so many RS variants now to cater for that.

The fact they are heavily discounting these cars even though the European economy is in a better state than when it was when Audi did manage to sell 500 RS3's with little to no discount and then decide to bring another 250 because of the success (admittedly from countries in Europe where they couldn't sell them) doesn't help the B8 RS4 owner when it comes to moving on because the market will be all over the place and you can't simply walk away from VWFS for the first two years without heavy financial penalties.

5. Now he's trying to downplay the RS4 V8 sound...for no reason other than to defend his RS3 and knock the RS4
P_G wrote:Funny that, quite by accident came across Stu on the A19 on Thursday and we had a rolling comparison between the two cars after which he drove by and for the first time I heard the V8 sound and didn't think 'I miss that sound'!

yes, exactly. As I said, I prefer the 4.2 but a wound out 2.5T is fantastic.

Apart from the comments being taken out of context and lack of interpretation yes.
