Hit a pothole this afternoon and put a hole in the tyre too big for the sealant to repair
Luckily, it was already booked in tomorrow morning for four new tyres
Will go straight into Audi after tyres for discs/pads to get sorted too

Rim okay? If so, happening the day before you were going to chuck the tyres anyway, Graeme I hope I can get away with saying YOU LUCKY F**KER! :<beep>_you:

Dad replaced an Asymmetric this week due to a nail in the sidewall. It was less than three weeks old!

If you've got the space, take the best of the three remaining ones home and sling it in the back of the garage. That way if you have a puncture when the next set are 3/4 worn you don't have to bother buying a new one, you can just sling the old one on. Also handy if you get a puncture the day before you are due to go on holiday / away with work etc (those 20s won't be on the shelf at every tyre shop!)

Did this when I moved to a set of Asymmetrics, probably should have kept the pair tbh as the best two were both 4-5mm! However the house looks like a wheel and tyre shop as it is, one was enough!

I agree with Graeme; Martyn at Bath knows his RS products and it well worth a phone call.

Ian it must be your turn now.
Cheers Graeme, I'm actually booked to drive one in a fortnight. Purely for research purposes you understand....... :sekret:

Hahaha Nicky you are determined to get me in an RS. :nogarors4:

Tbh it was only the lure of buying a new one for 43k and selling it a year later for the same price that made me daydream. But that Broadspeed cash price has been proven to be bullshit. I think the contribution discount offer only applies to a PCP, so I cannot HP it and then clear it with no exit fee like you would do to get the best price / free servicing on an approved used. B8 S4 Avant with Milltek and MRC magic (and possibly Q5 four pot caliper upgrade) is the sensible option in a few years time. And its manual. And its quicker......

You jammy …… , hope you bought a lottery ticket.

Last puncture I had was on a one day old Michelin on the S3 that couldn't be repaired.

Morning All. First post from me but I have been lurking in the background reading the posts for a while. All VERY helpful! I too have taken advantage of the finance deal and ordered an RS4. Pretty limited spec of Daytona Paint, v spokes, B&O and full leather. Not planning on keeping the car longer than the 3 year PCP deal so seemed pointless to keep the same balloon and add more extras. Amazingly I was originally considering an A6 Avant 3.0TTDI but I couldn't resist! I personally didn't notice much improvement in handling with DRC, and the sports exhaust I think would get tiresome for the nippers on long journeys... I also have an S4 B8 avant which has almost all options ticked and I rarely use things like heated seats etc... Build week has been finalised for week 49 and I can't wait!!! Just what to do with the S4? Pretty poor trade in value (although a great deal on the new purchase). As we currently only have one car, the ideal situation would be to try and find someone who is willing to wait till my RS4 arrives...? So if anyone knows someone who is after a low mileage (29k), May 2010 manual avant in dolphin grey let me know! The spec is good with sports diff, ADS, active steering, B&O, folding mirrors, heated seats, rear airbags, 19" wheels, full leather, supersports seats, Audi extended warranty (through Mondial) till June next year. Serviced annually (non of this long life nonsense!)

The wait is killing me!!!

Cheers

Darty

You could always speak with the dealer and see if they'll lend you a car in the short term if you sell your S4 privately
I imagine, if you're only talking a few weeks, they'll be able to come up with something

Good line up of previous cars btw, I've had a few TVR's (most recently a Chimaera 4.0hc) and a golf GTI in the past too
Oddly, although I hardly used my last TVR, I'm missing it already and may need to pick up a project Cerbera at some point to stick to the side of the garage and tinker with on rainy days

7K is the deal - then its into the dealer margin . I got 8% on top again but I am a longterm customer.
Should be able to squeeze them to something otherwise go somewhere else.

Audi Q7 Sline plus - Daytona, Tech Pack hi, Storage pack/Towing equip.

Feck me. Was expecting it to be quick, but not that quick. The RS5 Cab I drove at Millbrook left me cold and confused. The RS4 left me buzzing like a toddler on crack.

Misano plus privacy glass, matt aluminium, sport pack including dynamic steering, titanium 20" rotors and sport exhaust, heated buckets, pan roof, B&O, hill hold assist and tech pack advance including adaptive cruise. Quick run through the configurator, those options alone are 8,485 before the bits I missed.

The best option of all is standard - my word that quattro diff is just bonkers! Gear selector left into manual mode and then toggled into Sport. Left the suspension in Comfort, pulled over and had a look at the MMI and put the steering into Dynamic, but didn't like it so flicked it back to Comfort on the move. I could do third second third second third second all day long without getting bored! Rode considerably better on 20s than the RS5 Cab did, but I still think 19s would do me.
