if EVERYTHING else was the same BUT under the hood was a 4.0T, i bet you'd all be having a street party
where are you going to use all those extra ponies MRC would give you via their laptop in that scenario
its not as if the B7 has struggled with its 380-390PS
In a word, NO.
You shoould know me better than that. The whole package for the price charged and what you have to spec as options on it is wrong for me. But then I had similar issue between my used S4 and a new RS4. When the differential lessened it was worth making the jump. I suspect if I ever were to jump to the B8 and the package for me in the renderings so far do not inspire confidence to do so, it would be a lot longer than a year after launch.
I had a well tuned B6 S4 and when I saw the RS4 I wanted one. When I saw the C6 saloon (albeit for its monstrous power) and the R8 I wanted one. I have not had that feeling about an RS since; maybe I'm getting out of that phase but the B8 does not represent progression for me. Even if it did have a 4.0T but at least that would be some way to rouse the fizz.
Perhaps I am jaded by the reports of inert handlng and overly assisted electronic wizardry in the RS5, TTRS and RS3 to the pont of thinking this will be much the same because Audi are going backward to fast point and squirt machines that no longer have the dynamic edge the B7 RS4 and the R8 have. But you'll be able to tell us sooner than most dk, once you have driven it will you still want to hark back to a sorted B7 like you are after every car except the R8 you try?
