Chuckle - 2012 cars have a much lower spec than the 2015 cars see kmpowells post on spec

And it is the natural progression of sales...

Mate I want a cheap RS4 vs. mate I want one of the best and last v8 s4's :-)
2012 '62' with 20s and DRC but NO sport exhaust (ie car doesn't have sport pack) could well mean a launch car. Very odd spec. I'm absolutely sure the sport pack was available right from the start on customer cars

The March 2014 car looks good, although I bet there is a huge margin to haggle the trader down from the 46k windscreen price, book price is more like 40k. PXs on these are rubbish atm - I get the impression dealers are wary they are depreciating so fast atm!

And yes, 60k for a USED one would be completely mad!

FYI - due to a job change I've looked at chopping mine in. I got offered £39k for a '14/63 plate. Sports pack, drivers pack b&o advanced key etc. however, since having new rubber and wheel refurb it's going nowhere

Fast Audi Estates drop like stones; what's become really interesting though is how far they'll go.

So the B5 is propping up the B7 which is propping up the B8.

I'm quite attached to mine; so if I'm happy with the monthly financial impact (which I am) and I want to keep it for a bit (which I do)... infact hand it down to the wife; I intend to frankly bury my head in the sand until I think it's at status quo - or bring some big deals in and pay it off....

...... Thing is...... I've been told that the RS6 Plus is confirmed for launch late sept early Oct.... and the one thing I would say about the RS4.... it's a bit small.....

I don't think anything is propping up B8s. Fast RS Audi Avants do indeed drop like stones sadly. With so many new ones sat at dealers and sub 12 month old / demo / pre-reg examples available from 45-46-47k, Audi have no interest in taking them as px. Someone on this forum was saying they bought a used demo / pre-reg with 500 miles on the clock in March 2015, and were just offered 18k less px against ordering a new RS3. WTF! Audi really aren't helping themselves on the residuals.....

Very strange price spread at the moment. There's not a single sub 40k B8 on Pistonheads*......... 14 + 64 plates available from Audi for 45-46-47k.......... yet Audi are still listing lots at 60k+ still. In fact there's two on the used approved at 68k! Used not new!

Buying a 2014 for 45-46-47k, the depreciation will actually be pretty good. A dealer will of course say the more expensive cars have all the options.... but the same dealer will say the opposite come px time. Buying a 2014 2015 for 55-68k, the depreciation is going to be monumental.

*excluding the one at GC Motors North Yorkshire which is a dealer with plenty of stories online

Having bought brand new in January, personally I think prices are reflecting how the market was sold to me when I inquired. The RS4 will always be a desirable car, residually it's the strongest RS across the entire Audi family and that's reflected in the GFVs. I took a 2yr PCP and the GFV in January 2017 will be £38k. If that isn't true than Audi are going to have a shed load of cars being returned under the rules that state that if your settlement value is more than the cars value you can hand it back at any time. this will burden them with a lot of negative equity to cover. The one thing I will agree on is P/X values being weak, because there is a enough stock right now. Once that stock dries up values will get stronger.

You can take with a pinch of salt some of the cars on AUC being 'used', and the prices. Dealers have two tactics:

1. Dealers will put a fake plate and milage (normally a previous sold car) into the AUC locator so they can get a new & unregistered stock car into people's sights, because they have no way of advertising their new unreg stock to people. So a lot of those expensive cars will be new & unreg stock cars, not used. The prices are then indicative RRP which will make people think they are getting a bargain when teh dealer offers them discount.
2. If the car's not available yet, but they want people to know it's going to be available., to stop calls that will interfere with them selling cars they can actually sell, they list it at a stupid price. The closer it gets to being available the price will drop hugely.

Ex-Audi press/management/show car, without leather. Hardly good value all things considered... ;)

Me too! I've not seen her in 2 weeks :(

Still - she's in a nice home. Wait no. I abandoned her in an industrial estate without the company of other audis. :( she's going to hate me.

No news yet - I'll speak to JCWF tomorrow though and hopefully know. I'd really like it back for the box hill meet on Wednesday but I didn't give them that as a deadline so if it's not done I certainly can't blame them. Just... Fingers crossed!

Was itching to spend some time polishing the car today - so much I almost cleaned the wife's car. Luckily I stayed strong and cut the grass :p
