Huh? Depends on your needs and where you live I suppose, but for me there's no way I could exploit the limits of the car on the road and keep my license.

If you're in Germany for example, then yes.

A C7 is my next move though, but not because my B8 lacks for power or speed!

Top speeds not the issue with it Paul its that it feels like it's got 340 Hp not 444!! Wish I could take the loss on mine to justify a new 6 !! I don't think I'll ever spec a cAr up again !! Wouldn't matter if I had ticked every option in the book the dealers pay basic car minus depreciation ! Al wait on what will hopefully be a twin turbo new 4 and hopefully they will have retained the grip and handling and raised the game on the power front

Sepang with black can look stunning in certain light but other times it looks a bit normal to me. One of the B8s I saw on Saturday was sepang but with alu optics which I don't like on any colour car. Maybe that put me off a bit. But I could barely see the arches, it didn't have that mean aggressive look that the front of the B7 and C7 have.

My RS4 goes on Friday and I am jumping into a Mk7 Golf R for 12 months. After which a 6 Perf will be on the drive. Prices of 4s has been dropping so I am getting out whilst I have cash in the car. I've loved every minute in the 4 but have got a bit bored of it to be honest..."It's not you, it's me". I'll miss it but 12 months will fly by....won't it?

Well familiarity breeds contempt, innit. You can get bored with any car after a while. That said, this beauty has been my dd so I imagine the RS4 will last me a while before the tedium kicks in. I think expectations also line up with the entry point, as a mid-high 40's car the RS4 won't need to do that much to keep me content. When I buy new - personally - I expect a lot more.

You'll love it. You are right re: familiarity. It's a cracking package.

Edit - here it is -http://www.audi.co.uk/used-cars/used-ca ... c=se_na_re_ - they've not even washed it. They gave me £39k for it.....not much margin for the dealer.

Golf R is a hairdryer.....quick but a hairdryer.

RS6 vs RS4 The good old debate

I have been using my 4 as a daily for 18months now, do about 10k a year... Absolutely love it. I think for a daily it's a lot more practical than the 6. Though I have been tempted a few times, most people always say its too big and bulky compared to the 4. But god does it have kudos!

Vodkaking, I couldn't agree more - the engine in the RS4 whilst less powerful is simply an entertaining work of art, that redline is just amazing. And for size on daily duties it is too easy to get on with.

Been out in mine all day, the space i put it in at the doo i went to in Reading wouldn't have fitted a 6.

Fookin' ell. 'Working from home' today. Rather than listed to Gideon's plans to shaft us all, I went for a gentle drive around some of West Berk's finest roads. What an epic car - those down-shift blips in S or dynamic are immoral. Absolutely love it.

I've thought about the RS6, having driven one recently i was impressed with the outright speed the thing makes, but for me it's just too big, trying to squeeze it into most parking spaces is a ball ache, the 4 makes more sense, and is more fun on the twisty stuff, I think I will be keeping mine until the next model comes out, I might even pop mine down to MRC for a stage 2 and G box Map to keep the interest going in the car for now.

I stuck mine on the rollers at MRC the other week, it made 429ps. After speaking to Doug he was confident 465 - 470ps was achievable.

I also have an RS6 for 2 days this weekend, I think/hope it will feel to big and not as sharp as my RS4. :thumb:

429 is good I reckon, how many runs did they do?
