There's on at lookers at 44k now , admittedly it's done 20 odd k
Indeed, so would you buy that one now at £44k or a brand new one in 1-4 months with your spec on it at £45-48K? The latter more than likely so what happens to the ones up for retail now and the knock on for what dealers and private buyers will then offer for slightly used ones? Only people who need an RS4 with the specs available used and can't / won't wait or don't know about the current finance arrangement of which no doubt there will be a few will buy the retail ones that are on PH and Autotrader

Like said earlier, the current new car finance offer is a good deal if it is a keeper.

Funny that, quite by accident came across Stu on the A19 on Thursday and we had a rolling comparison between the two cars after which he drove by and for the first time I heard the V8 sound and didn't think 'I miss that sound'!

Can't get the kids in the back of that. I console the lack of V8 in my life myself with all the torques I have now and launch control!

I know it does but not with all the torques I am lucky to have.... V-Box sub 4 second 0-62 for a 'tarted up S3' isn't too bad.

Coming from a relatively torque light car the extra shove partly makes up for the aural change and the 5-pot doesn't exactly sound tame. Anyway, that's not the subject, back to B8's.

Indeed, as long as the gearbox or transmission doesn't spill it's guts!

Shove in the 3 was good to about 80, I found it a bit wet after that, though C6 was comparison then.

Best RS product at the moment is the six....

Yep, RS 3 was nippy low down, but really lacked shove past the NSL, there is only so far 5 little pots can go.

horses for courses...the TTRS is easily faster than a B7 RS 4 on the public road, but I'd take an B7 over it everytime.

Having put 9,000 on an RS 3 it left me deeply dissapointed, yet I loved my RS 5 and when I had a B8 RS 4 for a week with buckets and ceramics it was just miles away from the RS 3, even if the '3 wins the traffic light GP

You cannot put a price on the V8 soundtrack. It still makes me feel drunk

The same gearbox in the B8? Nearing 20k miles in mine and no hitches. OEM RS3 does lack puff above certain speeds but an APR Stage 1 RS3 doesn't and pulls distance on OEM and modified B7's and easily keeps pace with a B8 at all speeds for the times I have had opportunity to compare. Even an OEM RS3 with FMIC would be a different experience as Glenn can now testify.

Dave, I know you had your issues with the '3 however those have been covered and two simple changes, one being tyres would have made it a far better proposition. I'm not advocating the '3 is perfect but then I didn't buy it thinking it was. It was always a work in progress as was the B7 and my '3 is now faster than my old car, more usable everyday, kinder on my pocket and as much fun but in a different way for all occasions outside of being on track. As for V8 soundtrack, been there done that, and as good as it sounds next up for me is a V10.

C7 RS6 is a good prospect however for what I need too big and too pricey to justify.

All good, Its only banter G.

I've said in the past, if I hadn't been in the position where I had one as a company car, I would have ordered one myself, they are a compelling package and that 5pot is glorious.

Mine did chew through x2 front tyres and front brake pads in 9k, and wouldn't do 30mpg for love nor money...ok, I drove it hard, harder than a normal (sane) person, but still, it was pretty nose heavy and so running costs won't be miles from the RS 4.

Anyway, I'm pretty darn close on pressing the button on an order.
