Given your penchant for spending vast amounts of cash, may one point sir in the direction of the "56 Nord" box...

:smile_smoking:

P.s. Yes I may have already researched the <beep> out of the subject! Colour coding ends up quite expensive due to a required non-flexing(yet still lightweight) box material. That is unless you wrap it... ;)

Well think my plans on this upgrade may be thwarted ! Been offered 15.5 % discount on a new 6 but being offered 40 k for my £66k retail 4 but in real terms it's a 17 k loss on a year old car and puts my initial 31 k deposit down to a 14 k deposit on a 6 ! And I'm so struggling to justify :bash:

sounds like a great deal on the 6....but that sort of loss on the 4 is nuts..!

So I've just spent the last week in the Scottish Highlands hooning around with a bunch of mates (will post up details in a different thread as it really was an awesome time).

I was in my B8, as was one other. We had a TTS & an S3 as well as a C7 RS6. The difference between the cars in and out of the single track twisty roads was simply minimal. Obviously none of us are Richard Burns so there was easily a difference in driving skills, but until we got onto a longer stretch or were pulling away from a bend or heading up a hill, the cars were pretty evenly matched. The weight of the C7 hindered it and actually made my B8 a better power / weight / handling combo for the trip. But as soon as we hit some decent clear straight roads it was of course a different story, but the B8 wasn't that much off the C7 (well, not as much as I thought it might be!).

The C7 owner is a good mate of mine and it was his purchase that got me to stick £15k into a new one earlier in the year. Sadly I had a client go pop and I had to take a rain check on the purchase. Moving forward, my B8 is about to celebrate her 3rd birthday and I'm keen to move her on in the coming months. My issue is simply what to take in replacement. I utterly love the C7 and having both seen it and heard it in detail for the last 5 days made me think I wanted one again. However, my mate in the C7 is a far better driver than I ever will be and I'm pretty sure he was making the C7 look like it was easy to plough through the lanes against my B8.

Having read all of the above in detail, I'm now seriously considering an M4. I don't like the fact the C63 has an iPad stuck to the dash, not do I like it's lines in any format. Spec'd up to the level I would want will still leave me with around £25k in the pocket to play with against a C7 - and that would be a pretty highly spec'd car. Also, living in Central London I am pretty sure the C7 will piss the hell out of me as a DD.

Finally Boff, it's me you messaged on Facebook re Audi City & the C7.
It's all torque talk.

Had a lot of traffic so into comfort or auto and cruise in a quiet comfortable cabin. Bit of space opens up and bang it has way more performance than you can use!! I read before picking it up that within 3 seconds from any speed you should be lifting!! Very true. I had a rs4 for a weekend but with a ridgeback to house in the boot that was a no and to be honest it didn't feel as special. Can't wait to get more used to the features of the car, couldn't be more happy. Bought from Crawley audi through Hannah smith who made whole process easy and with very good discount!!

how are you getting on? Does yours have the standard suspension?

15.5% discount is very good, shame its such a low bid on the 4.

Im trying to decide if a B8 or C7 is the best next step for me. Both are compromises as i really want a saloon but aside from the forthcoming Alfa there isnt much choice as i dont want either BMW or Mercedes offerings. So, I was in my local Audi yesterday so I had a good look around the C7 in the showroom. I also too a look around the 2 B8s they had outside (used of course). Based on looks alone I just don't think the B8 is good looking enough. Maybe it was because one had alu optics and the other was a bad colour but neither looked mean enough or enough of an RS for me.
So without driving either I'm left really with just the C7.
Then walking back to my B7 I think to myself how good looking it still is. And then after a late night dash to KFC with minus 2 degrees ambient temperature and empty roads I am also reminded how thrilling it can be to drive when faced with a bit of empty tarmac. Damn it.

Welcome! It's painful.

I've not driven a B7, but I say that I absolutely love the B8, and I fancy a C7 P/E: a standard C7 wouldn't be a big enough draw (well wasn't and that's why I've only just ordered one)

Looks, of course subjective, the B7 for me look fabulous, and louder than the C7 - the arches are something else.

If you need space tho it has to be the RS6.
