So I've just spent the last week in the Scottish Highlands hooning around with a bunch of mates (will post up details in a different thread as it really was an awesome time).
I was in my B8, as was one other. We had a TTS & an S3 as well as a C7 RS6. The difference between the cars in and out of the single track twisty roads was simply minimal. Obviously none of us are Richard Burns so there was easily a difference in driving skills, but until we got onto a longer stretch or were pulling away from a bend or heading up a hill, the cars were pretty evenly matched. The weight of the C7 hindered it and actually made my B8 a better power / weight / handling combo for the trip. But as soon as we hit some decent clear straight roads it was of course a different story, but the B8 wasn't that much off the C7 (well, not as much as I thought it might be!).
The C7 owner is a good mate of mine and it was his purchase that got me to stick £15k into a new one earlier in the year. Sadly I had a client go pop and I had to take a rain check on the purchase. Moving forward, my B8 is about to celebrate her 3rd birthday and I'm keen to move her on in the coming months. My issue is simply what to take in replacement. I utterly love the C7 and having both seen it and heard it in detail for the last 5 days made me think I wanted one again. However, my mate in the C7 is a far better driver than I ever will be and I'm pretty sure he was making the C7 look like it was easy to plough through the lanes against my B8.
Having read all of the above in detail, I'm now seriously considering an M4. I don't like the fact the C63 has an iPad stuck to the dash, not do I like it's lines in any format. Spec'd up to the level I would want will still leave me with around £25k in the pocket to play with against a C7 - and that would be a pretty highly spec'd car. Also, living in Central London I am pretty sure the C7 will piss the hell out of me as a DD.
Finally Boff, it's me you messaged on
Facebook re Audi City & the C7.

It's all torque talk.
