So, Senior Audi tech have stated that it is normal.

What makes you a technical authority to say they are wrong?

It it happened to me I'd:

Launch an all out, scathing (but polite and grammatically correct) Twitter assault. (Sounds scary, I know).

Send a single email to all three of the following:
- Audi UK CS Manager (have seen him mentioned here).
- Audi UK MD
- Audi CEO
[I'd do the last bit in German - really laying it on thick - are you aware of the brand damage you are suffering on 'the Island' etc.... If you need to do this, I can do the German translation for you.]

In parallel:

Watchdog...
Sympathetic car rags etc...
Current 2017 991.2 GT3 - Manual, 918 Buckets / CS pack, Guards, the dog's.
Gone 2016 991.1 GTS PTS Voodoo Blue - best car to date, 2015 911.1 GTS, Carmine, PDK, interior pack, stunning, 2016 Carmine Cayman GTS, PDK + toys, 2015 RS5 Cab, 2012 Discovery 4 family wagon, 2014 Golf R, 2015 Cayman GTS, 2014 RS4, Sepang with most of the toys, SQ5, S4, S5, A5, A6.

Im just stating an opinion buddy, and letting others know about my experience ! Having said that when I was told this, I asked them to explain to me technically with the aid of a schematic diagram what causes this knock........ the reply from Audi UK was unbeleivable in my opinion. They were unable to answer my question without furthur information from the Audi factory. So they can tell me its normal but cant tell me what causes it !!!! Mh.....m !!!!! I did eventually get a description of where then noise comes from.

Watchdog was contacted a few years ago back by forum members about the DRC issue and they basically dismised it because it didnt affected enough of the population.

I did try to contact different consumer programs including, dont get done get Dom etc, but they all replied back with automated responces saying they are not recoding at the moment but if their researchers have any interest in my story they will be in touch. I suppose its just their way of not having to deal with every individual email they get. I even contacted Autoexpress, and in all fairness their editor did reply and say he would get a member of their watchdog team to contact me, but they never did unfortunatley.

I do appreciate your offer of help, but as I have sold the car now I see no other point in pursuing it. Having said that though I just want to reiterate it again, that I still want to let others know about Audi's DRC actions........

Its such a same as I love RS cars, but the knocking, coupled with the fact that Audi were distancing themselves from my problems simply led me to sell the car on at a substantial loss, all because Audi wouldnt fix a problem !!!!!! Its not the service I expect, when I'm buying a 15K vehicle, never mind a 70K one !!!!!

For me that's the bad bit !!!!! Just after I sold the car I was I formed that I would be made redundant in just over a years time. That unfortunately means that my days of owing these type of cars may be over for a while. Unfortunately my next purchase isn't very exciting at all. I'll probably buy a new Transit Sport to start some type of business myself. RS4 to Ford Transit !!!!!! And there was me thinking I couldn't get a bigger kick the teeth than Audi messing me about...... Oh how wrong was I. After that announcement I wasn't going to bother telling my story online as it didn't appear to be that important anymore, but I guess I just got a little carried away today. Ha ! So enjoy your RS's guys, some of us are resigned to a van for now. Lol.

I don't have a problem driving a van but we had better not start talking about them on this forum or our Audi friends won't be happy. Lol. What do we know about the new RS4, if anything ?

Just a guess on the new rs4, lets hope it's more tuneable with a charger, or turbos
